Interesting to note that during the attack on the bus by dozens of Asian youths, (just as during the first day of rioting and looting) the police were conspicuous by their absence.
Yet they chose to arrest the 44 passengers, for daring to let their bus break down in a 'no go area', But failed to arrest even one of the dozens of Asians, for threatening the passengers and causing criminal damage to the bus.
Even when a replacement double decker bus tried to leave the area, Asian youths tried to block its path by sitting in the road.
Yet still the police did not arrest them, WHY???????????????????

because when the police charged at them they fled.
If the police did arrest the 44 passengers for 'daring to let their bus break down' then there's nothing to worry about as that's not a criminal offence... however it was something entirely different...
Maybe if the police weren't busy being pelted with bottles and fircrackers they'd have been there earlier.

Interesting to note these two photographs,

The caption reads, /// Police swiftly got to the trouble spots and pulled troublemakers out as EDL members pushed and shoved. ///
Can't see anyone pushing or shoving, seems quite peaceful really, not even any riot gear to be seen.

/// During the demonstration firecrackers were thrown by EDL members while police deployed mounted officers and dogs. ///
The majority of the onlookers seem as surprised as the police at those incredibly dangerous firecrackers, and where are the mounted police and dogs? And still not a sign of any riot gear.
Ah, such serene scenes, on an early autumn day in London.
'Tower Hamlet Carnival' organisers please note.

Last time a EDL coach was in a small accident there were 78 claims for whiplash injuries sustained by the passengers. Unfortunately, it was a 25 seater minibus.
