Finger licking good.
I know it's gross but how on earth could a human finger turn up in a bowl of chilli sauce at a Wendy's without anyone noticing it especially the person who's wondering what's different about their hand? Can't wait for this one to be solved!

Leprosy patients have lost all sensations in their extremeties. Lepers are cheap labour and due to their illness they will not notice when a finger has fallen off. In fact lepers have been historically used to open lids from bottles which have been hermetically sealed as they do not feel the pain in their fingers. The disease however does not spread from ingestion of any fleshy parts and i will now assuage my guilt by contributing to leprosy research.

Both for the people discovering bodyparts in their food, and for the poor lepers. I don't know much about leprosy but I recall something about lepers having to do some kind of "body check" to make sure they don't get bruises and wounds because it is so dangerous to them. That is what I call abusive employers!

They did question a hitchhiker who was noticeably unsuccesful in obtaining a lift though...No known connection...
