21,000 NHS pen-pushers to be made redundant - Hurrah!

At a cost of £830million - Hmmm?

Then 7 out of 10 of them will be re-hired - What!?

A friend of mine was made redundant in the last big NHS shakeup.
She was then taken on as temporary self-employed consultant at a much higher salary.
Nearly 20 years later, she's still a temporary consultant.
They must have made HUGE savings on that one.
the tories will fiddle the figures about and blame the labour lot for any mess

nothing new
So it's not just the Bankers?!
"the tories will fiddle the figures about "

and we all know that labour wouldnt dare do such a thing

pfffft
You don't believe everything you read in the Daily Mail do you Gromit?
One of my old bosses took redundancy in the private sector, got a massive payout, then was re-employed as a contractor.........
And we pay for this
For a large organisation like the NHS to run efficiently it needs to be privatised. So why don't they go ahead and do it. They could still offer the patient free treatment at the point of delivery.

The efficences will come not from reducing patients but from efficiency techniques in the supply side which is sadly lacking.
