What's the best way to deal with a racist nutter?
a) Hurl abuse back?
b) Ignore him?
c) Write about it on Twitter?

Personally, I think he deserved an open-handed slap in the mouth, but that would've just escalated the situation. Good on Kelis for keeping her cool - what would YOU have done?

More often than not the race card is played without hesitation when it comes to upsetting etinic minorities and I defy you to say otherwise. The fact that she is accusing the "man behind the passport counter" of agreeing with the man in question raises serious doubts about the strength of her case. But here is the deal breaker for me, she said the UK was "decades behind progression" (her words) based on one man's attitude toward her. If that isn't a narrow minded uneducated view of a whole country I don't know what is. Therefore she is playing the race card in my opinion.
she is so squeaky clean her self lol http://www.washington.../AR2007030200618.html

/// Ironically - the incident in the link was sparked off not by the young black man - but the White woman. If she had kept her cool, like Kelis, and not sought retaliation, that would've been the end of the matter.///
Is this not racist also?
You openly accuse the WHITE woman for the man's death, when in fact it was her BLACK boyfriend that struck the killing blow.

I guess we are all guilty at some time of taking one personal experience and attributing it to the whole of society. I have no idea if the guy with the racial insults had a reason for his anger, but he ought have kept to the point even if he did.
But ultimately we are all going to bump into unpleasant folk occasionally. It's life; we don't have thought police, there will always be those who judge on the issue of race or culture. One can argue with rational accusations, but irrational ones are best left in contempt, to show the individual who made them in a bad light they themselves have created.

no AOG, you're missing the point of her tweet entirely, she clearly says Britains issue is that we don't stand up and confront the dispicable act of racism, it would be a little hypocritical of her to think that and just keep quiet about it.
Yeah she probably is a nasty peice of work and up herself, I'm sure a hell of a lot of 'celebrities' are but she's absolutely right to confront this act and speak out about it. Are you trying to say that, because of her actions, she deserved to be racially abused!?

It's very simple- if she's an uppity mare then by all means take her to task on it, if she's a queue jumper likewise, but dont, DON'T resort to racial attacks because you know what? There are white and black queue jumpers- it's NOTHING to do with race and it's time we all moved on and stopped hurling unpleasant slurs at each other because of the colour we are ( or aren't).
That being said what America has to teach us about racial harmony you could write on the head of pin.

I have to disagree...if someone DOES queue-jump, the normal reaction should be "Oi - excuse me...there's a queue here, what do you think you're doing".
It's not to resort to racist slurs.
That's just bizarre and disgusting.
What he said was the equivalent of calling a woman a c*** because she has annoyed you. It's just ugly.
