Good for him, I hope his message gets to those extremists and also to all those who are contemplating acts of terrorism in the future.
Unfortunately rather than sit back quietly while the extremists have tainted not only their name but also their religion, the peaceful Muslims should have took to the streets long ago in open protest at their fellow Muslim's acts of mass murder.
/// He said the voices of the 99% true, peace-loving Muslims have not been heard, they have been drowned out by the clamour and the noise of extremists.///
No I am afraid their voices have not been "drowned out by the clamour and the noise of extremists". the reason their voices have not been heard is because they haven't spoke up.

I thought once that religion of whatever persuasion promoted peace, tolerance, love thy enemy, in fact i believe there are a number of quotes from the bible to that effect, i could be wrong, it's be a long while since i read any religious tract. But you don't see or hear that, but intolerance and even hatred of each others faith, beliefs, and that is why i decided long ago, well it wasn't a road to damascus conversion, to cease believing, and trust that being an atheist upsets no one, as i don't, won't take sides.
