a 1.4 mile ring of steel .roads blocked off and streets closed.

another edl march in manchester , NO this time it is the tory conference.
1000 police officers will be on duty each day of the conference, police have been drafted in from merseyside, lancashire, west yorkshire and cheshire.

if you live up here and have any trouble getting hold of a copper nip down into manchester town centre they will be mixing with the tory scum who will be claiming expenses for a nice hotel and some good food.

/// for a person who calls a lot of people savages you get upset by me calling the tories scum ///

I only call evil rapists and other despicable criminals 'Savages', they deserve to be called such.

But legitimate politicians no matter what party they belong to do not deserve to be called 'scum'.

/// have i said i only want a one party state, who is twisting things now aog ///

I am not twisting things, i only assumed you wanted one type of party in power, if you do not want a one party state, and you hate the Tories so much, what other political parties do you support?

>> But legitimate politicians no matter what party they belong to do not deserve to be called 'scum'. <<

that is your view aog

my view is that all the tories are scum

>> I am not twisting things, i only assumed you wanted one type of party in power, <<

don't assume things for me and i will not for you

imagine me saying that aog hates black people and wants them all kicked out of the country, would you be happy with me making such an assumption, i don't think so
DrFilth

You still have not answered my question.

If you do not want a one party state, and you hate the Tories so much, what other political parties do you support?

Judging by your reluctance to answer, may I again assume it is Labour, consequently my referral to your 'one party state'.
Question Author
straight away you do it again >> may I again assume it is Labour <<

you don't want people to assume things for you yet you can't stop yourself making assumptions for other people

By once again evading my question, I think I have proved my point about you wanting a one party state.
Question Author
>> I think I have proved my point about you wanting a one party state. <<

you have proved nothing aog, all you have done is shown your ignorance

last elections i voted labour, this was to keep the tory scum out

before that i have voted liberal now they are in bed with the scum

at the european elections different again

in past elections i had the choice of scum, labour, liberal, ukip, bnp, independent and for the euro we had a bigger choice

what does that say now aog about me wanting a one party state

you stick your one party state up your @rse aog f****** wrong again
Question Author
forget to add monster raving loony party to that list
Why "tory scum", Dr F? They don't look like scum to me, they look like similar people to me as the people attending any other political conference. Define "scum" in this context, please.

It was labour who said the additional £50 and £100 would be for one year only.
I was ominous about getting into town earlier but it was ok. Set up seems similar to the Labour conferences (armed police, road closures, those random yellow loopy security gateways) we've had here in the past at GMEX though today was more full on with the march. Glad to see if all passed without a single arrest (according to the MEN earlier). Nice to have it go off calmly, especially after the riots.

I was up in the main bit of town and didn't hear a thing save for the helicoper keeping an eye overhead and there were more police keeping an eye around the main bit of town away from the conference (Piccadilly Gardens, Market St etc...). It was actually really really quiet there, maybe a bit to do with the weather, whereas it was really busy yesterday.

Are they staying in the Hilton? Wonder what they've done if so as it's been closed to guests due to powercuts!
Question Author
they hoped to have power back on at the hilton for today
