Tense activity in the courtroom now
I have just learned that Miss Knox"s mobile phone was turned off,as was
her boyfriends mobile, for 10 hours around the time of the murder.
Apparently this was unprecedented during her stay in Italy.
Did she at least know something was about to happen to Meredith Kercher

Not Guilty then!!!

7 minutes on here and maybe 9 on AB and you are calling someone "an idiot," SW. Pray who are you referring too?
Swilliams - no need to be rude. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. In my experience, I've never heard the prosecution "big up" the defendant - that is normally the job of defence Counsel.
so what's the official length of time before you can start calling DT an idiot?

hm, I may be wandering off topic here.
Sorry sorry. I shouldn't have used the term idiot. Apologies DTcrosswordfan. My emotions are running high tonight because I am gobsmacked at AK's release.
simple, time for suspension.
Sorry to get sidetracked from a serious post, but I am lol at jno.
Trimeresurus, if you read my second post then you will see that I am answering to DTcrosswordfans post on JJ's previous threads.
What that has to do with anything I dont know.
I'm sure this one will rumble on in the Press.

There will, of course, be a large media contingent who will claim that they could see flaws in the evidence all along, and will search for headlines in their own papers which were not fed to them by the Italian Police.

These will mostly be the papers and TV companies who might be hoping for an interview at some time in the future.
Ok apology accepted - that came in as I pressed the send button to my reply above.

However, do look at the thread and the reasoning - it is pretty illuminating and brought many of us up to speed on this sordid story...... You too may change your mind if you read what Jayne has assembled.
jno // Daily Mail have accidentally posted the story prepared for if Amanda Knox was found guilty - http://t.co/vgx1zyY6 http://t.co/ER0tFFKA //

The Sun and The Guardian did the same
Guys, you've all been great company ... even those of you who think I'm completely wrong about Amanda and Raffaele. Sleep well. I'm going to bed.

clokey, I've seen the tweets about the Mail (though the page has vanished), but seen no evidence that anyone else did the same?

It does happen (I personally have put things on the internet I didn't mean to) but I'm surprised that it happened three times on one night.
Yes, sorry about that DTcrosswordfan. I just got carried away in the moment. I didn't mean to be personal. I have read through this whole thread and unfortunately I still feel the same way about this evil woman Amanda Knox.
It probably was the Mail story written by AOG that got pulled, jno......
The article, which appeared online just before 2100 BST stayed up for nearly half an hour, included “reactions” from prosecutors who were said to be delighted with the news that Knox would be going back to jail.

Minutes later, the correct news that Knox had been set free and her convictions overturned, dominated the airwaves, internet and radio as the Italian court’s real decision was made public.

The Mail’s website story also carried info that Knox’s boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito, was to also remain in custody for the remainder of his original 25 year sentence.

STORY: Amanda Knox Verdict: Conviction Overturned

He was also subsequently released and found not guilty murder.

The inaccurate article was accompanied by the headline “Guilty: Amanda Knox looks stunned as appeal against murder conviction is rejected.”

Shortly after the correct verdict came down, web browsers looking for the article were met with the following message:

“Sorry...

The page you have requested does not exist or is no longer available.

If you have typed the URL in by hand, please make sure you have entered it correctly, with no capital letters of spaces.”

STORY: Amanda Knox's Conviction Overturned: What People are Saying

The article, complete with quotes from prosecutors claiming “justice had been done” by the verdict that later turned out to be the wrong one, was captured by sites including WhatCulture.com and PaidContent.co.uk.
and that is an opinion that you are fully entitled too, SW......

Though she may not have been guilty of the actual murder, there could be some areas of greyness that still need answering....I choose my words carefully as I now think folk need to be careful, a la Yates, in what they "accuse" her of re the potential fall-out, an issue more for the papers, perhaps.

The Landlord of the Yates case is obviously considerably richer for the slander/libel flying around (but his life shattered). This case may now have similar implications as to so-called accusations.
I am guessing the person who pressed "send" in the 30 seconds before the Judge announced the acquittal is going to have an uncomfortable morning........
it seems the Guardian garbled a blog report saying she'd lost her appeal but without making it clear this was just on one count.
