/// 'The movement aims to unite the United Kingdom’s far-flung activist communities ///
Isn't that a miss-print, should it not read, "'The movement aims to unite the United Kingdom’s Far-Left activist communities?
Another outing for the 'Lefties' it seems, I wonder if the police will come down on them as they do on 'Right Wing' outings?
Why can't the Home Secretary ban this, like she did the last EDL march?

Of course there are snarl ups at times but that's London .
If people wish to demonstrate peacefully it's their democratic right to do so whatever their political affiliations .
The idea is to get the governments attention .The seat of government is in London .
No good having a protest in Little Snoring in the middle of nowhere .

That is one hypothetical question that is impossible to answer, since it can never come to fruition that we all have an equal share in wealth.
Just think about it, who would speculate their own particular wealth to obtain even more wealth for themselves?
What would be the point because you would then have to put your profits into the communal pot for everyone else to share?

I would be happy if it was sometimes, but London has changed out of all recognition, particularly over the last 5 years, there are some very big building projects currently on the go, not least London Bridge, The Shard, the whole area is being redeveloped, and Crossrail, which affects all of the central part around Oxford St, and lots more like this, some of its been in preparation for the Olympics next year. Let them have their march, i really couldn't give a damn, but if they have it in Little Snoring, at least the inmates would get the gist of the problem. Dave Cameron isn't listening, nor any of the opposition.
You and I agree on all the points AOG. Those days are long gone which is one of the underlying reasons for the wealth gap and lack of future today. We can't compete with the world any more. How did Margaret Thatcher reply when she privatised industry? When asked how we could compete with Asia she said that "Industry must make itself leaner, trimmer and fitter". Remember that? Brilliant Mrs. T! After huge rounds of job losses, fare rises and cuts British industry became so lean and trim - it disappeared!
I think you'll find with North Sea oil and gas we have to hand that over to Europe - then buy it back!
As I said, no one has an answer today and that's what the protests are about. Just be grateful that we lived in the golden years.

No, it became substantially less labour-intensive and more specialised - very similarly to what's happening to some degree or another across the Western world. British manufacturing is still alive, it just doesn't employ that many people anymore:
