Will the details of Gaddafi's death cause some sympathy for him?

He was just killed by an individual, in times of civil unrest you can't control every hot headed maverick with a gun and someone pulled the trigger. I don't believe this relfects badly on the new Govt at all as of yet.

Murdering prisoners is an ugly business.
Even though he was a killer too it's a bad sign to see the new regime doing what he did.
Not from me.
Not from me. (That's not to say I approve of the manner)
no, but i am not sure that murdering him was right, but that was someone else's decision.
I doubt it was the regime who killed him; he was probably dead before the authorities got to hear about it.

Would have preferred him to stand trial and hear what he had to say about Blair and Brown.
Disgust, not sympathy.

He should have stood trial. It is wrong to murder somebody because he murdered people. I am better than that.
What he had to say about Blair and Brown, eh?
How self-obsessed we are :-)
What is the point in putting him on trial ? Y
You are not going to get any more info from him . Trials of this nature have never brought any positive results. It just ends up as a grandstand for them to air their views . Saddam , Milosovitch, Karadich ,and at Nurenburg, the Hague . They can drag on for years and cost a fortune. Do you think Gadaffi is going to admit to anything . Why should he ? He has nothing to gain . It might encourage his supporters to rally and give succour to other dictators who think that even if they are caught they might still get away with a life sentence and all the time their victims are not getting justice.
Look at the Nazis who were locked up for 20/30 years . The last being Hess .
It's nonsense blaming the new regime they couldn't control the rebels even had they wanted to, which I doubt.
I agree with modeller. A trial would have achieved nothing other than to give him a platform to rant more nonsense. No answers about Lockerbie, Yvonne Fletcher or anything else would have been forthcoming.
His death had nothing to do with the new regime. A group of soldiers found him and dished out their own justice.

Will the new powers that be, seek out these murdering 'soldiers'???????? and put them on trial, as our own military would have done?

I very much doubt it.

So therefore that makes them no better than the killers.
Yeah - let's spend millions on a trial, with lawyers and the press having a well paid field day, and let the world watch us falling over backwards to be kind to Gadaffi, and give him loads of publicity for his lunatic ravings.

The Un's doing its best with the demand for an inquiry - that should be worth a couple of million...
Gadaffi has paid the ultimate price. What kind of people are those who wish he was still alive so he could be put on trial? There seems to me something vengeful just for the sake of it about that sort of wish and it's no credit to anyone now he is dead.

No, of course not. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
I think not! He was
He died in the same manner he'd had thousands of others killed.

Brutally, quickly, begging for mercy.

Do Muslims do karma?
I don't think his victims died quickly.
If reports are correct ummmm the majority of his victims were summarily executed.

Indirect victims affected by the arms and explosives he supplied died equally quickly.
