Am i the only one that thinks there's a lack of public toilets in the uk?

Train, tube stations everywhere is lacking.
In this time of more people, longer queues and especially more alcohol, shouldn't we have many more toilets on every corner?
I'd be more than happy to pay a pound or two extra taxes to help with maintainence and if this was asked from everyone in this country this would be very viable.
Do you agree we need more toilets here?

most pubs don't let you use theirs, unless you are a customer, ask in London and you will normally get a no. The one's in London are a disgrace, and even trying to use the ones in Covent garden once, were locked, fer christ sake

Well i can see by the replies that this is a problem with cause for concern.
What's the alternative, pay or beg to use peoples loo if caught short?
What happens if you're caught urinating in public because you don't want to urinate on yourself because there is nowhere to go, can you still be arrested and dragged through the courts?

a bit easier if you are a bloke perhaps, but for lots of women its a nightmare. Those french style loos are ghastly, i mean you aren't sure if the door will stayed locked, and if you suffer from claustrophobia then forget it.

There is a total of about 30 here-with 1/3 of them in the City centre. They are cleaned and restocked twice daily.

yes definitely more are needed, esp down the tube, where there aren't any bushes, lol!

there used to be a free loo with a janitor at most tube and railway stations!

its 20p in our council carparks' facilities, except for disabled radar key holders!

loads are locked regardless! its not good enough!

Yes, I agree with you in that we do need more toilets. I would make a joke about this but that would be just toilet humour!
