Many may ask what is indigenous, do we see that as white working class? having read through it, it's not all negative, and as it happens i agree in part. I have seen our area go from very pleasant, a safe community, to not so pleasant, and most definitely not safe. As to mixing well, it's as they say a two way street. Perhaps in time, all peoples in Britain will be mixed, and one big happy family, but i wouldn't hold my breath.

A nice idea - but I wouldn't hold my breath either.

Em, whereabouts in London are you?
fairly central.

Not sure that your question is accurate. The report doesn't state that indigenous (probably spelled incorrectly) Britons are 'out ranked' by foreigners. The report says that white people in Aston, in Birmingham, Canley, in Coventry, and Somers Town, in London *felt* unfairly treated and "last in line".

There is a very valid point made though...it's the way that white working class people are portrayed in the media.

Pick up any of the right wing rags at the newsagents and you won't have to look very hard to see stories about 'working class chavs, layabouts, teen mums, feckless fathers, drunk girls vomiting in the street, benefit scroungers etc etc'.

When I was growing up, there would be hell to pay if popular culture summarised the working class whites like that.

Its not right.
Somewhere around the city then?
naomi, hope you don't mind, but not going to say, but as said reasonably central.
No, of course I don't mind. Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. :o)
naomi, no problem, but to the question, our local council had a housing policy that meant those waiting on the housing list for a very long time, didn't get housed, because they didn't have a large family, but many of the incomers did, so they got priority, and that as they say was from the horses mouth. It caused much ill feeling, which persists. It matters not a jot the colour of any of them, it was the unfairness of it that got to those who had waited.

..and that's a problem in itself - the fact that they have that perception. Someone should probably be addressing the reasons they feel that way, and proving the perception to be erroneous if indeed it is.

People who express these opinions tend to get lazily dismissed as whinging EDL scumbags though, which is a shame.

So we focus on spelling even when correct do we? Right oh!

I think he was questioning his own spelling not yours.
Kayless, Ludwig copied and pasted SP's post verbatim. He wasn't criticising.

I've spoken to a lot of people who feel that the indigenous population have somehow become second class citizens.
Question Author
he used the same spelling as me and then questioned it!
Oops, sorry Ludwig, Didn't see you there. Just thought I'd clarify that.
Oh, sorry. I thought you meant Ludwig's post. I'll shut up - for a while at least. :o)

I was talking about SP
Yes, I know that now.
I think geezer was criticsing sp not me, but thanks anyway Naomi. It's all very confusing.
Ha ha! Yes I know that now. :o)
Oops.
