There are a series of 'G' summits where the top lot of each country (usually with upwards of 20/30 retinue each) meet to discuss the world /environmental issues and what to do about it, in turn at a country of one of them; the current host country's organisers tries to outdo past summits in lavishness, from the place to every detail concerned with the menu. Also, there's the security and protocol. These are incredible photo opportunities for world leaders, and a leader's position in the 'school photo' is picked over ad infinitum. I wonder how much has been spent and how much has been contributed (planes, cars , etc.) to the global warming that they all profess to be so concerned about? I have lost count of how many millions of pounds have been spent in these ego-fests. Keep an eye out for G9! You tell me if much apart from the obvious can come out of them and if you think you as a citizen get value for money? I am very cynical I'm afraid; I think of these summits as just one more way in which to heap the riches of the world on to a handful of men.
