I wonder if we will react in the same way that some did over the burning of the Koran?
Can one see us taking o the streets, attacking the Libyan Embassy, or even murdering folk, over this sacrilege?
No, no matter how disgusting we see all this, we are civilised, more than be said for this rabble, and their followers.

Another 'small' group of people demonstrate over the burning of the Koran.

"You don't sound very angry to me.
'Angry' towards me perhaps? "
It's been a war, it's retribution by a thoughtless splinter group, it's wrong, and everyone's saying that. I can be seething that war graves have been desecrated - something we hold dear in this country - but I don't go around effing and blinding about it, or calling people savages, that doesn't do any good at all.
I wouldn't be angry with you - more sorry that you seem to live your life (and read your newspaper) with a daily sense of injustice and frustration about anything to do with foreign nationals.

My sense of injustice and frustration, as you say, is not only about foreign nationals as you state, but by the fact that many on here are slow to condemn the crimes of some foreign national's, but are quick to criticise and condemn their own countrymen, even myself for daring to read the Daily Mail or post news items that show up their friends misdemeanour's.
Had there been a stronger show of feelings over this news item, then there wouldn't have been a problem.

"Slow to condemn" on here, aog? We have you to do that for us. It should 'go without saying', for everyone but you, that we condemn it. We haven't, I suspect, the time or the inclination to post what it is not necessary to say, but we might thank you, out of politeness, for your trouble in giving us a startling glimpse of the obvious.
Desecration of war memorials in this country you so cherish, AOG. No Way!!!

Oh Ihave just realised they must all be Muslims who have done this....Apologies.
The Libyan government has apologised and said the perpetrators will be sought out and arrested.......leaveit at that.

It's a disgraceful and horrific act, but frankly I'm kind of heartened by the fact that people aren't responding as hysterically as you seem to want them to be. It should be pretty obvious to someone with as much life experience as you that just because people are not gnashing their teeth and getting into rages over this incident, it does not mean they don't care or that they somehow condone it - in fact the implication is quite distasteful.
The new Libyan government has promised to track down and punish those responsible - which is about all they can do. Seeing as we have been sponsoring these people for a while, and we are already giving them our resources, we are apparently choosing to trust them. We may well live to regret it - and plenty on AB have predicted as such, but even if they are trustworthy, they couldn't really do much more than they are doing.
I fail to see what responding to an incident like this with knee-jerk gunboat/bomber diplomacy will do to help the situation.

The deliciousness of being tongue in cheek, Fred.
The point being that we have our vandals too - and may due process catch up with them as with the Libyans. I sympathise with their Government and people at large, they didn't need such adverse publicity, not over something like this.
And yes, less of the gunboat diplomacy, AOG, what do you suggest doing? Sending the RAF bombers in? The SAS perhaps to go and do some licensed hunting and murder?
Do tell us what and how, old boy.
We are interested to hear and understand more about your innovative foreign policy initiative.....is it EDL approved?

I found this AOG to cheer you up.

// Vandals have attacked 20 Muslim graves at a cemetery in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
Headstones were pushed over and ornaments from the graves strewn around the cemetery in Hampden Road.
The graves were vandalised between 2100 BST on Wednesday and 0800 BST on Thursday.
'Cowardly act'
Supt Gilbert Houalla said: "I am disgusted that these people could be so thoughtless and cowardly and cannot believe that anyone could do something so unbelievably shocking to the graves of loved ones.
"It appears that the vandals have specifically desecrated Muslim graves and I am at a loss as to what was going through the minds of those involved. //

/// If caught, the Libyan authorities will not put them in a cushy jail or give out a suspended sentence. ///
In fact they wouldn't even dare do any of those things, it would set off another uprising if they did.
Interesting to note that the War Graves Commission are to step in and pay for a full restoration of the cemetery.
No offer from the Libyan Government I see.
Had our own nationals been involved in such a way, the British Government would have sent out the Foreign Secretary armed with a blank cheque book.
