I wonder if we will react in the same way that some did over the burning of the Koran?

Can one see us taking o the streets, attacking the Libyan Embassy, or even murdering folk, over this sacrilege?

No, no matter how disgusting we see all this, we are civilised, more than be said for this rabble, and their followers.

'The Libyan authorities apologised and pledged to catch those responsible.

The damage was "unethical, irresponsible and criminal", the ruling National Transitional Council said'

(from the BBC)
No.
No.
It was a small group of people.
The Interim Government have apologised.
Who do you mean by "we", aog ?

/// It was a small group of people. ///

/// The Interim Government have apologised. ///

Wasn't it also a 'small group' of American servicemen who burned those Korans?

YES

And didn't the Americans also 'apologise'?

YES

But did it make any difference to those who murderously retaliated?

NO! NO! NO!

Any more excuses for their actions Jack, or are you prepared to condemn them for once?
I'll condemn the perpetrators - but that doesn't detract from the fact that the government has apologised.
<sigh> Don't start with that, again......:o(

Yes, I condemn the actions. But they were the actions of a 'few' Libyans not the entire population.

The Libyan transitional government is deeply embarrassed and has apologised to UK.

Would you like to take to the streets and kill a few Libyans to make yourself feel better about the whole episode?

Are they also your feelings jno?

I am not really interested in the feelings of the BBC, I posted this thread to find the feelings of other ABers.

Now how did I predict this answer?

But in answer to your ridiculous question, I say this;

"No, of course not, but it would be interesting for you to explain, why whole sections of Muslims, are always so predictable in taking such actions".
The Koran-burning was a stupid mistake too, and the Army has apologised for that too. There will always be a few people who run amok - it's not representative. Most of us are dismayed by this, as (I bet) are many from the Middle East who live here in the UK.
I have absolutely no intention of indulging your anti-muslim notions, AOG.

I answered the original questions you asked.

Any inferences you draw from my answers or from the newspaper articles are entirely your own.

/// Graves of RAF pilots were among those shattered by the thugs. ///

These were the WW2 ancestors, of those pilots who help to achieve this rabbles freedom, and this is their way of repayment.

Perhaps the RAF should now return, and present them with their 'payment' receipt?
Well, there's a precedent for that suggestion AOG

No AOG - they've apologised - stop rabble-rousing. It doesn't mean we're not angry too, but two wrongs don't make a right.
The Daily Mail describes these perpetrators as "extremists". Do you agree with that definition, aog ? If so, does that define them as representative of the rebels, the Libyan people, or even Muslims ?

Yet another convenient cop-out I have come to expect from you.

Be interesting to know were I have accused the who Libyan population.

That is ridiculous, in fact almost ridiculous as you saying it was only a 'small group'.

These Muslims were only part of very much larger groups of Islamics who are committing murder and carnage all over the Middle East over the burning of their Koran.

This latest attack being only part.

How much longer will empty apologies be enough?
bit like the EDL threatening and terrorising Asian communities,in this Country..
/// The damage was "unethical, irresponsible and criminal", the ruling National Transitional Council said' ///

Yes.

/// It doesn't mean we're not angry too, ///

You don't sound very angry to me.

'Angry' towards me perhaps?

Then the answer must be yes, but then that is nothing new.

One must ask, if you have got your priorities right?
On a plane to Texas recently, some gentlemen chanting 'Allahu Akbar' had to be restrained by other passengers. The American media described them as belligerent only, neglecting to mention what religion they 'possibly' belonged to or what they chanted.

Need I say more?
So what's your answer, aog ? What would you do, were you in power?
And are you simply saying that "we" are better than them? Or that we have no extremists who would desecrate war memorials or graves? Or that, to the extent they we have people who are extremists, our extremists are better tnan theirs? Or we do have extremists as bad, but not as many, so its a question of numbers?
