Not even the Tories claim Labour 'caused' the above. They accept there were international crises. Their criticism of Labour is that they mishandled t and that is a moot argument at best and one that will gradually lose its power as the Coalition remain 'in charge'

A disaster in the economy always benefits opposition parties. The government is always accused of not handling it properly; when the cause was not their fault, any government can be accused of not doing enough or not doing the right thing. The electorate have the depressing habit of believing that is true until the moment when the economy recovers, when they are inclined to give the government the credit, though the credit might be undeserved

As to whether he should be sacked, of course he shouldn't. Stating that the Government is having a torrid time and that will help the opposition is not just blindingly obvious and true, but it is absolutely what you would expect any member of the opposition to think and say.
