Why is it that this case seems to be a taboo subject?

Forgive me for raising this issue once again but I think questions should be asked.

I have just gone to considerable trouble to enter into debate on this case, only to find that the question has been removed once again, along with my post.

Why is it that very few wish to discuss this headline news report? It seems that just like the police ABers fear being branded as racist if they say anything that criticises the actions of these child abductors and rapists.

The police who waited over two years before taking action, refuse to class this as a racist case, excuse me but this was an attack on white girls only, by gangs of Asian men, how can that not be racist?

If the roles were reversed and it was gangs of white men attacking Asian girls, there would be all hell let loose, especially if the police waited two years before taking action, no doubt we would have seen the Asian community taking to the streets in protest.

i have been very interested in the media reporting of this case, and it would appear to be a very sensitive subject.i have in the past worked with vulnerable young females, ( not in a highly populated asian community ) and for some reason ? im reluctant to get involved in sharing my opinion on the net.

Obviously not all Pakistani men, or Muslims, see white girls as easy meat, but many do. That can only be down to the upbringing.

Men have been preying on vulnerable girls for a very long time.

Even in the 60s I knew girls in care homes that were targetted by men in cars, pretending to care about them and 'befriend' them Not long before they were being pimped, dependent on drugs or simply reliant on their 'boyfriend'. These were white men.

This is not a race crime. This is a sex crime.

How do you mean 'the police refuse to class this as a racist case', aog? It isn't in the legal sense. We don't have 'racially aggravated rape'; the maximum for rape is life imprisonment so it can't be increased, in itself, for a racial element. It would be investigated as rape, by officers who deal with rape cases, that is officers trained in interviewing victims, and senior officers.

'Asians' are overwhemingly involved in cases of this particular type in the area; it's something like 57 of them out of 69 convicted. And the judge pointed out the religion and community element in this one.

Where is the evidence that police waited over two years simply because of the racial element in this particular case (or any) ? There are evidential difficulties with all cases of this type. Are you saying that the police had sufficient evidence to charge but didn't tell the CPS, or that they did but the CPS advised against charging? if you are, how do you know this ?

It's not taboo, why should it be. According the news report last evening it's single white males who are more likely to groom children, whilst it's groups of Asian males who groom young girls, as in this case. Take that as you wish, i am only reporting what a police officer said, and one assumes they know about these matters. What is very disturbing is why one young girl wasn't taken seriously in 2008, so the whole nightmare has been prolonged and worsened by their inaction.

Having watched the news, read any number of reports, one can only come to the conclusion these young girls are left to their own devices by parents who don't seem to care. Or if they are or have been in care why aren't they looked after. Vulnerable young people will always be prey for these vile people, no matter their colour. I do hope they get long sentences. and wonder at the families of these men, what do they think of their husbands, brothers behaviour, if that were me i would be appalled.

I agree that this case is more of a sexist nature than racist. If an Asian girl was in a similar circumstance to these victims, I have no doubt that the gang would have preyed upon her also.

they have been sentenced to between 4 and 19 years, no other details were given, this was on the radio just now. Quite honestly i would jail them all for life, no parole. But i am not the law, and that is probably a good thing..

If an Asian girl was used in this way she would likely be disowned by her family. At least that is how it seems when you hear of cases where a woman has been raped, it's the woman who gets the blame. I hope they rot.
