The Big Pit

Waved frantically - pleased you saw me. I did wonder if everyone on the guided buses needed to keep their eyes firmly on the road to keep them on course!

Did you have a good day excelsior?
Curious as to why you went to some of the places in your list.
a very good, but expensive day. thnk you

i hope you had a good holiday - certainly the weather was good for it
You did'nt pass my way, cheshire, but I would have!!

You put some miles in there....it was brilliant weather for you, not too many
traffic queues I hope.

Hi Sherr, some places we passed en route and others we visited specifically. Brecon Beacons, Neath Valley, The Mumbles oh and i missed out Tintern Abbey. A round trip holiday .

We had a great time - beautiful scenery and some wonderful weather .

Thankfully the roads we good Chi Chi.

I did wave to you a couple of years ago when we visited Cheshire and Shropshire, but I didn't know you then!
Nice to hear you had a good time. I am from South Wales and there are some lovely places around (did you see the kiosk shaped like an apple at the Mumbles?). We live in Hereford now so still quite near and off to hit the beach at Southerndown tomorrow.
The Mumbles are lovely, used to go to Barry Island as a child from Abergavenny. Love Big Pit too.
Ooh where in Shropshire? That's my home turf :)
We keep thinking about Big Pit but think some of the beautifuls might be a bit young yet.
Used to go on the ferry from Barry Island as a young child with my grandparents.

I didn't see the kiosk Sherr. We parked down by the town and walked as far as the pier - no doubt it was just round the corner?!

Beautiful part of the country and friendly people.

There were lots of school children at The Big Pit - I'd say the youngest we saw were about 8 or 9 yrs old. The guys taking the tours are brilliant and the whole place is very "real".

We also called into the Rhondda Heritage Cenntre where you can also go underground: although it had a nicer visitor centre, it was far more of a museum experience rather than feeling like a real pit.
I have a long stretch of the A14 on the horizon Maidup. Was that you whistling at my builder when he was up the ladder?
Well I'm about 15-20 miles inwards from the M25 so I probably missed you waving Maidup.
Was that you waving your little Union Jack maidup? I was going to wave from the "home of the Pork Pies" but you just didn't want to come and visit us her in the Midlands!
Gosh travelling all that way in all that heat! Rather you than me maidup - but some lovely Welsh scenery, we loved The Mumbles when we went on holiday many moons ago ................ you can keep Rugby and Coventry tho!
We're not far from The Mumbles so go there quite often. Shame you didn't have time to go to The Gower, as that's lovely too.

Which was your favourite place?
for some reason WILLi amwas in Taunton(somerset)
