The law of the land you are in should be applied, not our business. If they shoot drug dealers in Bali then great.
If she is guilty and shooting is the law in Bali for her crime then why not?
If I understand it correctly she did it for her adult sons. I'm afraid local laws should be applied.

Her sons should be utterly ashamed that they basically handed their own mother a death sentence.

Not got the link Baldric, its in today's Mirror, she knew the consequences, in my opinion she pays the price.
No doubt she was offered a large sum to do this. And given assurances that because she is british and a female, that she would be treated leniently due to diplomatic pressure from the british government as has been the case previously. If she is executed then future drugs mules will be difficult to find and that is no bad thing, if she is not then the problem is perpetuated.

She is to be executed on an isolated jungle beach by a firing squad of ten men. (Unless they change their minds.)

Should've stayed in Fulham, which isn't that bad when you get to know it.
"If she is executed then future drugs mules will be difficult "

not the case though, these countries have executed plenty of drug smugglers over the years.

By all accounts the drugs were hidden in the lining of the suitcase, by todays smuggling standards that sounds about as naive as is possible
No Doubt hoards of hand wringing liberals will do a Cahill on the case and the PM will plea for leniency whilst offerring a few squillion quid in aid and she'll get off with life sentence. Which in a Bali Jail may actually be worse!
Their country their rules I might believe the death penalty is wrong but Bali is responsible for the action of Bali not our place to interfere... perhaps one of her sons will volunteer to die in her place,,,
Seen the story now, imo if you go abroad and you break the laws of your host country you should be tried and sentenced according to the laws of that country.
As she cooperated with police in catching the persons she was delivering to i doubt she will be executed, most likely a twenty year sentence to be served in this country if she is lucky.
Anybody dealing drugs in Bali knows the penalties, and this was a massive criminal operation.

Why should the UK waste any time on this?
No sympathy whatsoever, she would have been laughing all the way to the bank if she had not been caught. Pity we do not such strict adherence to our laws as they do in other countries.
Agree with Brenden totally.
"perhaps one of her sons will volunteer to die in her place" (rowan)

Good point, rowan.

One, or both, of them should say that Mums is innocent, and that they planted the drugs on her, and will face the consequences.

Or are they going to sit back and let Mummy take one for the team ??
Then again she'd probably prefer that than see one or both of her kids executed
as a right-winger, I am outraged at this nanny state interference in the lives of entrepreneurs who are simply trying to conform to the international market economy.
Sugar....was she caught ?

No coke for my barbecued pears then .......

Who cares what they do with piece of scum...she obviously didn't care how many lives would be ruined had she succeeded.
If you commit a crime in a country o'seas knowing the penalty then...yes ! do the crime pay the fine !
