Dog attacks
Should all dogs be muzzled when out in public areas even when on a lead? It would be interesting to see dog owners views.

He is a wonderful and enthusiastic dog and wants to be friends with every one. But we watch him around strangers because his enthusiasm gets the better of him and he just wants to jump up to say hello. Not every one gets the idea that he means no harm. It is down to the owner to make sure their dog is a good dog. As pointed out some people think these dogs are status and some how improve there perceived hard attitude. My daughter has a staffy. She is a lovely little soul without a bad bone in her.
I know very small dogs that are extremely aggressive. Dogs who's owners have spoiled them to the point that they think they are at the top and will aggressively protect their position in the pack and that is how dogs see us.
The problem is people fail to take into account just how a dog sees the world and that is when the problems begin. At the end of the day the greatest cost is usually paid by the dog with it's life because of a problem owner.

Is that the best you have em10. I could show you a thousand times more pictures of just what people can do to people but what would be the point. i know what dogs can do. I have been bitten by one. But I bothered to find out why. we give people the benefit of the doubt so often when they commit horrendous crimes. We try to find out why but we don't give that same thing to any other life form on this planet. This is why i stopped coming in here. it's full of the panic brigade who see nothing but what they want to see.
No, all dogs should NOT be muzzled when out in public. The majority of dogs (like mine) are loving, friendly creatures who only want to please. I meet many people with their dogs when out walking in my the local park and they and their dogs are a pleasure to know. Why should we all be penalised because of the scum who think it's clever to own a dangerous dog who they like to attack other dogs or people?? My dear old dog would be terrified if I tried to muzzle him and he wouldn't understand - why should I put him through that..... Saying all dogs are dangerous is like saying all men are raspists - ludicrous !!! Your park sounds horrendous em, mine isn't a bit like that and why shouldn't dogs have a run round and play fetch and case their ball? In my opinion, children are at more risk from people than dogs - I wonder how long it will be before we read of another attack on a child from its so called parents or its mother's partner - probably not too long unfortunately!

"live quietly in the countryside, with my two totally dog/people friendly working JRT's, Why should I have to tolerate townies, coming out at the weekends, leaving there, litter everywhere, urinating in the bushes, letting their screaming brats run wild, destroying wildlife habitat, through sheer ignorance, and parking in the most stupid places and THEN, leaving the locals to clear up after them.
