MM Links Results Jun 2012 Week 4
16 Answers
Apologies for the brief delay caused by my laptop refusing to communicate with my wireless router. I have used USB memory to transfer it to my desktop computer.
I can now reveal that the link words chosen by 'Don Corleone' (aka deecee131) were:
GAME BIRD
ROMAN ROAD
CLAY PIGEON
FLAME PROOF
By coincidence, Kate Pepham chose the same link of CLAY in her crossword. It remains to be seen what she pairs it with on Monday.
Hopefully, players weren't too confused by that.
28 of the 43 players scored 43 points between them. Details and scores follow.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Strix, being the BIRD that he is, swooped in silently as player #1 to take a GAME BIRD for 2 points.
Rockfordill was in time for the bonus as well.
Player #2, Roslyn251254 then claimed both FLAME PROOF and CLAY PIGEON. Lysander emulated that almost immediately so 4 points each.
Tearinghair, rockfordill, ulysses100, lysander, Manxiemo and Aquagility were all within the two-minute window to claim two points each for the popular 'Clay Pigeon'.
Still with the clock at 9:02, middlestump collected 2 points for ROMAN ROAD.
Thereafter, just single points were claimed - mostly for 'Clay Pigeon'. Amongst them was another double-hitter, SHAZZAHewat.
Oh dear, who to make the hotshot?
Four double-hitters all including the popular 'Clay Pigeon'.
No elusive last link.
Who will it be?
Well, instead of looking at the last hit, I have has to resort to FIRST hit.
Therefore, for being the first to spot a link.
(And for breeding a fine filly who graduated St.A. this week.)
(And because i don't think he has been 'hotshot' before.)
I declare:
