Well there are a number of religious groups who could claim religious descrimination Seikhs, Orthodox Jews as well as muslims.

Why?

Well I guess the logic is that for those who have with a religious significance to their beards they do not realistically have the option to shave it off.

Stubborn ex-navy types do have that choice - unless the Navy believe that you go to hell for shaving
"For men, this includes wearing a business suit and tie at all times..."

I'm struggling to believe that car washers, cleaners, mechanics etc are all dresssed like this under their overalls.
Beardy Weirdies of the world unite !
i wouldn't want to work for them if they have this idiot policy in place, hopefully he goes on to a better job.
I fail to see how having a neat and tidy beard conflicts with being 'professional'.
Nothing wrong with guys having beards.

If they want to look like serial killers.

Or tramps.
or ZZ Top
many men look good with beards and worse without. A male friend shaved his beard off and no one recognised him. He grew it back.

Excuse me JJ but my OH has a beard and looks nothing like a tramp, serial killer or Rasputin lol.

He would however be sleeping in his own bed if he ever shaved it off!

\\\For men, this includes wearing a business suit and tie at all times, no earrings, no unkempt hair and no beards, except in circumstances where they have a religious meaning or a medical reason."\\\

I cannot see the problem here....the MD's of the company have stipulated this rule and that is their right.

He has a beard, he won't shave it off........so no chance of the job.
"except in circumstances where they have a religious meaning or a MEDICAL REASON"

Why would someone need a beard for a medical reason ???
JJ..might cut themselves shaving if they had a bleeding disorder.
Maybe the medical reason might be a huge scar or something??
