I can't find a link - sorry - but it was reported on the BBC Breakfast News this morning that a car park has opened in Germany which has wider spaces designated for women.
Now, I can't think why this would be, so would be interest in peoples thoughts!
I saw some women's car park spaces in Germany recently. They didn't look any bigger than the rest, so it may have been for reasons of personal security, like women's train carriages.
It's not so much that men are better drivers than women, we just employ different techniques such as observation, anticipation and a lifelong desire to learn and improve our skills while women cry and blame everyone else when it all gets too much for the wee souls. :P
given the much higher rate of male road deaths, it seems risky to force them into tricky parking places. Unless of course it's a cunning plot to get them ramming the columns and bringing the building down, so the site can be redeveloped.
douglas, is this your general approach to life, have you a missus, and does she know your take on her. I hope your response was tongue in cheek, as to women parking, there is no fact based evidence that women are worse than men.
Well maybe tears is overstating it a bit, embarrassment at having held up the whole multi-storey for ten minutes while parking is attempted then driving off to find a space that can ACTUALLY accomodate the C1, Micra or similar.
the reason is the different style of trains, the old sliding door carriages have long gone, as have the slam door type. The carriages are open and walk through, so no reason to have women only carriages. Now if only they do that for idiots with mobile phones.
I know, Eddie, I was thinking of Japan, where I believe they still have them. On a thread about Germany I think it is vital to take an global viewpoint.
ELVIS68 may have a point. I read about a study years ago which claimed that men have better spatial reasoning than women which is hardcoded into our DNA.
