We can all find family and friends on 192 if we pay, so can someone please explain why we STILL have to wait until 2021 to get 1921 census? 1911 was out about 2010, so why can't the law be updated. 'invasion of Privacy' doesnt apply these days. (192 as stated) Also ,I am 100% stuck on ancester born 1817, how do I find his siblings and parents names? Thanks

I think under the freedom of information act census details cannot be published for 100 years (dotty will correct me if I'm wrong).
If you give details od the 1817 ancestor I'll try and help you.............

Ps He brought family up in Birmingham, but want to go back, so will be Lancs
Is Lutterworth in Lancashire or Leicestershire?
Question Author
Not sure, I put Lancashire on my Genes site, but borders do move. Birmingham is warwickshire on census. Its west Midlands now
I spent alot of time and effort in the 1990s, along with many other family historians, campaigning to release the 1901 census early. then the 1911 was on limited release prior to it's statutary release, you can pay to have a search of a specific address for 1921 and no doubt there will be a campaign for it's general early release, mainly based on the early releases of the previous returns but also to bring the England & Wales releases in line with the returns of the US census.
and yes, when the returns were taken they were subject to 100 years closure, and this has been reversed to some extent with the 1911 and so a president has been set.

do 1861 yourself and you will see
Is this guy a baker bagpuss, if so he's from Leicestershire?
never heard of Lutterworth lancashire and the borders between lancashire and leicestershire would have to change by eliminating several counties!
http://www.genuki.org...utterworth/index.html
That would have been one hell of a border revision.......to move Lutterworth from Leicestershire and into Lancashire!

Unfortunately, the 1921 census was substantially destroyed during the blitz and whenever it is released, there will be huge gaps in the information.
Question Author
Thanks dotty, interesting. Shame though... Pessimist side of me-with my health, makes me feel 9 years is much too far away
Lutterworth is in Leicestershire. I know boundaries move but not THAT far

Unless there's another one in Lancs - if there is it's very obscure

Isaac Lord was born 23 Jun 1816 and christened 17 Dec 1816 in Lutterworth, Leicestershire...............his parents were William Lord and Ann.
