Today a woman working for a security company (Security Response) stopped my son from walking down a road towards the route of the Olympic Torch. What legal authority did she have for doing so?

Round here the security people have stopped us walking down loads of roads which were blocked off while the torch passed. The road closure notices have been up for several days.
