We went to the beach today. There were around 20 of us altogether. All related.
Had a brilliant time, up to a point.
The tide started to come in and we all had to move, which we had anticipated anyway so no problem.
Suddenly heard that our seven year old granddaughter had fallen around eight or nine feet onto solid concrete, landed on her back then bounced another 3 or 4 feet onto the beach.
The beach patrol guys arrived in minutes, 'phoned for a ambulance but prior to it coming we had to move gd off the beach or she would be under about three feet of water.
Found the stiffest board we could and got her onto it until a medic car arrived with a spinal board and an Air Ambulance arrived at around the same time.
So at one stage we had all that lot, plus the coastguard, police, you name it.
On the spot examination showed no spinal damage, thank God, but gd was transferred to hosp by ambulance car for check up and is to have a CAT scan as she has amnesia and her back is now starting to hurt.
I have to say all the professionals involved were really brilliant with my gd and did everything right. They are to be congratulated.
Must admit it's shaken us all up. I'm too old for all this excitement!!
Just waiting for scan result now.

I took the mater out and headed down the N Cornwall coast, see the Church I recently drew, lunch in a pub and then through Perranporth, St Agnes and down to Portreath and then on to Hell's Mouth (See Good Morning thread).
Anyway got back here and watching the news, some guy from St Austell took off from the grass-strip at Perranporth and ended up flying into the cliffs near Portreath and it would only have been 20 mins after we had gone through! He is, well, caput. Pics will be coming on the local news, Spotlight, I believe.

Thanks to all of you for your good wishes and prayers.
Just heard my gd has been discharged with medication. Presumably painkillers.
Praise God.
One bit of light relief. Three of us were taking it in turns to hold her head steady.
The medic was doing it and said, "You really must hold your head as still as you can. Do you understand?2
And what did she do? She nodded!!!!!!!!!
