I think Boris is great..............
Can't stand him.
Boris is far from being an idiot, but what he is is a buffoon, along the lines of the court jesters of mediæval times. They, too, could get away with saying outrageous things to their lords and masters, but they rarely if ever BECAME lords and masters themselves.
Thus, I believe his hopes of ever leading the Tories is doomed to failure. The incident referred to here enabled Cameron to make a joke about Boris "defying gravity", which could have referred either to the attraction of the earth OR seriousness.
On the other hand, if the Tories do make him leader, it won't be long before we become even more of a laughing-stock in the world.
Boris rules so boo sucks all moaners!!
Today's paper says that Boris may be a buffoon but he's actually very astute, and he got re-elected..... but if he stays for another term at Mayor, rather than going back to Parliament, he may run the risk of missing out on high office in coming years.
I'm not a moaner, just don't like him. A view I'm perfectly entitled to !
Didn't single anyone out-calma,calma.
Is there a link to a pic of this event?
I know you didn't and I am calm thank you ....
I like Boris, I think hes about as honest as a politician can be. Fights with his own party if he thinks their wrong, at least as far as London is concerned.

His principles may not be all mine, but at least he sticks to them. And I should be so stupid.
He's no fool . Cameron needs to watch his back .
But having him as PM would make us a laughing stock unless he calms down the buffoonery .
He was a good sport to do that zip wire thing .
He's actually a very good presenter and very knowledgeable about ancient history .He was impressive in The Dream of Rome and After Rome .
I agree Shaney. He is certainly no fool and is very entertaining and knowledgeable - however.................... not exactly the image needed by the UK.

(But on thinking about it - anyone would be better than Cameron!!! Can't stand the man)
Putting aside politics etc, Boris has proved something I've long suspected, Britain has lost it's sense of humour.
"But having him as PM would make us a laughing stock"

let them laugh but it will be at their own peril, as most people are realising and the odious newt ken livinginthepast found out, hes pretty damn astute and not only walks the walk but talks the talk.

He is nobodys fool and to think otherwise is a very foolish mistake to make, whilst some may laugh at him they are underestimating him and they will come a cropper.
Trouble is too much buffoonery and people forget that you have a serious side. A sense of humour is great and I admire Boris for it, but I cannot see him being taken seriously at all now even if the situation calls for seriousness.
Totally agree bazwillrun
I love him. I think he's a life enhancer who always makes me smile. But I'm not sure about him as PM, I don't think I could hold my breath for 5 years.
