Who would not shed a tear at this terribly sad news? Poor, poor lady. RIP. x

It's likely Brady couldn't find the body now even if he wanted to. The moor seems to be a massive place with no distinguishing features.
//Unfortunately there are too many do-gooders and soft judges - and the criminals just laugh//

I agree whole-heartedly sir p.
Only just seen the headline. If there is any truth regarding the letter, what a shame she didn't finally get to know the answer she has been searching for. RIP.
I notice 'Cutting Edge' to be shown on Monday is about Ian Brady. I wonder if it will be shown now or put off to a later date in view of the supposed letter.
But hasn't Winnie won in the end? She is now at peace with her son, but Brady will now rot in his cell (he will never be sent to Scotland like he wants now) and he has no more cards to play.
I feel so sad for poor tortured Winnie, she has suffered enough. May her soul rest in peace along with Keith.
Her family said on the news just now that she didn't know about the elleged letter, she was not well enough to tell or to raise her hopes yet again.
How sad, poor woman must have lived a tortured life, her little boy taken from her in the most horrific way and never being able to say goodbye the way she wanted. May she rest in peace along with her beloved child.
I'm so sorry his mother died without ever knowing where her boy was buried. I thought they allowed Brady out to go on the Moor to see if he could identify the spot where the boy was buried a few years ago?
I really hope that sad barsteward feels a lot of pain before he dies.
I sincerely doubt he's ever felt any mental pain and I'm sure the hospital he's been kept in has ensured he's had no physical pain either. A truly evil person.
rip winnie let's hope brady rot's in hell
I read that she hadn't been told about the letter due to her state of health, I hope it's true she didn't know now. It would be heartbreaking if they do find a letter and it does say where her son is, only for it to be too late for his mother to know. Could be a sick game of Brady's though, who knows with someone capable of doing the things he did.

I just the site can be found and the lad can at least be laid to rest with his mother.

Hopefully this will end any kind of leverege or attention Brady had in the attempts to try and get him to reveal where the poor little lad was buried.
Well according to this article he is suffering, so thats good if true

and even though this is 6 years old it according to his recollection of another of his crimes it seems his memory is far from dulled so he may well know the location of the young lad.
Does anyone else find it strange that this letter from Brady comes to light days before she dies? I'm not sure what it implies but it's strange.
Its also strange this mental health advocate gave it back suddenly, its also strange that they cant find it amongst his belongings in the hospital
i am of an age whereby i remember the Moors Murders and the shock and outrage they caused at the time.

I deeply sympathise with the poor mother of Keith Bennett, and anyone connected to any of the poor mites in this horrible case.

But yet again this brings forth the bluster and wind from the self-rigteous brothers who attempt to outdo each other with their rage and wish for painful retribution avoided by 'soft' judges.

I have banged on ceaslessly, and will again, about the simple fact that our laws are what protect our civilised society, and the notion of 'torture' and inflicted 'slow painful death' does not help anyone, exept those who feel a thwarted sense of revenge and Biblical 'justice'.

The law of the land must apply to everyone. Making 'adjustments' based entirely on emotive reactions to crimes and criminals simply underlines the concept of the law and its purpose and effect - so cannot be allowed any creedence.

Before anyone leaps to post a response beginning 'So ...' which is usually followed by an answer that has ignored the point i have made, I would say that as a parent of three daughters, I would cut Brady into one-inch cubes with a rusty tin lid if any of my children were murdered in this way - but that does not detract from my point that the law is applied fairly and equally, which is what alllows our civilised society to continue.

It is by no means perfect, but certainly prefereable the vigilanteism that some would see replace it.

Gnashing teeth and wishing for a painful death for Brady is futile, and sends us on a dangerous slippery slope - we must instead turn our compassion to this poor mother, and let the law take its course, as it must.
