/// The MoD has refused to reveal how many attacks there have been on service personnel, who were forced to plug gaps in security at London 2012 after G4S failed to recruit enough security staff. ///
Why do they once again try too sweep these matters under the carpet?
The cowardly attack upon a service man, by a group of four Asian men happened on Monday 6 August, why has the news only just broke, had it had been an attack on a solitary Asian men by a gang of four soldiers, it would have been broadcast with vigour and disgust very much sooner.

There have been millions of people here for both codes of Olympics, and it's inevitable that those literally in the front line of security - the vast majority of them wearing uniforms - are inevitably bound to attract some attention for the wrong reasons.
No one can condone any of the morons responsible, but I'm sure our squaddies have encountered far worse in Iraq and Afghanistan and are quite capable of handling themselves.

You made light of homophobic attacks.
A friend of mine ended up losing an eye a few years ago after being being beaten up by a group of young 'men' who screamed homophobic abuse whilst kicking him in the head.
I'm sure you can understand what I think of your 'pink uniforms' quip.
So to clarify...these attacks go on all the time, not just during the Olympics. They get very little coverage in the national press, and like attacks on servicemen/women - they aren't suitable subjects for levity.

I apologise if my over generalisation of Pink Uniforms and Gays failed to amuse you, I would have thought that you in particular possessed a sense of humour that realised it was only offered up in jest.
I am sorry to hear about your friend, but just because there are cretins about who think nothing of attacking homosexuals, Blacks, Whites, Asians, Jews etc, doesn't in anyway excuse these recent attacks on our Armed Forces.
These guys and girls were ushered in at a minutes notice to provide the security at the Olympics, so you, I, and our overseas visitors are able to enjoy the experience with a lesser chance of being involved in a terrorist attack.
I wonder if those ABers who have took a negative approach on these attacks on our service personnel, would show them a little more support and respect if they themselves were to be holed up in a shopping precinct or such while these brave individuals put their own lives on the line to defuse an explosive devise?
It is almost a certainty that there will be another terrorist attack at some time in the future, and just be certain the murderers who carry out such attacks will not differentiate between their victims, men, Women, Children and yes even those ABers who now seem to be defending them.

I would understand it if you'd said, "I wonder if those ABers who regularly criticise the armed forces...etc"

You surprise me that you can understand humbersloop's post, because I am damned sure that I can't.

Are they not each of the same?
