Has learning difficulties but does have an ability to 'regret what she did'. In other words, knows right from wrong.

Those that know my views on things can guess what I think should happen to her. Anyone else's thoughts?

Her lawyer said that she regretted what she did. Whether she did or not is debatable. Judging from the pictures of the boyfriend and her they don't look to be at the worst end of the 'learning difficulties' spectrum. They're probably just two pieces of human dirt that don't care about anything.

ladybirder,

I've just shed tears because of Cody - and I don't feel in the least ashamed - just totally livid at being so helpless as not having been able to do anything about it.

There are subhumans in our midst who just do not deserve to live.

At least Cody can suffer no more?
Mike - I always had you sited as a Times reader ...like Great Uncle Bulgaria ;-)
grffindoor,

I reckon that that woman needs psychiatric help? She must be totally deranged with her sort of attitude.
OK I'll bite. What facts do you think have been twisted AP? The picture of the dog in its filthy crate speaks for itself. Here is what the judge said at the trial.

The judge who presided over this torturous case of cruelty was Judge Michael Kelly. He stated:

“This is one of the worst cases of animal cruelty I have come across.

“This dog was confined in a little cage so small it appears it could barely stand up.

“It was kept there without being allowed out at all for any exercise or freedom and was starved to death.

“You could have released the dog. You could have provided food for it. You were offered help and advice from the RSPCA.

“I can’t think that any human being would have failed to recognise the suffering and distress of this dog.”

So there you go.

Off to bed now so night all.
sir.prize,

I wouldn't bother anymore if I was you - I think Howard's not so much beyond help, just pig headed and completely unreceptive to logical explanation.
Don't "bite" Ladybirder - I wasn't fishing.
night, ladybirder,

Afraid I won't sleep tonight - not your fault but this post and the news about Cody has put me right off my kip - just my cockeyed love of animals?
Me too K, me too.
I *will* sleep tonight, I love animals too - I just refuse to be insensed by tabloids.
... there's no such word as "torturous" btw ;-)
(you may bite over this - and I'll deal with the consequences!)
I just refuse to be insensed by tabloids.

You do mean incensed, don't you (not that I'm trying to wind you up or anything...)
Yes indeed Mike - sorry - I've inhaled too much Golden Nagchampa !
..and before you mention it, yes I *know* there is such a word as "torturous", I've just seen too many cases where the word is confused with "tortuous".
"...insensed(sic) by tabloids"

Nah, nothing to do with them - they're reporting news, any news, good, bad, indifferent, emotive or dispassionate, just....news. It's the scum of the earth who cause this news to be reported and I for one make no apologies for feeling dreadfully upset when I read about it.

Perversely, we need these reports so that, unbearably tragic though they are, maybe one day we will get the appropriate laws, punishments, and even perhaps deterrents, to try to combat anyone either guilty of or planning/thinking about committing such atrocities.

I long for that day - but I am not naive enough to hold my breath waiting.
"Perversely, we need these reports so that, unbearably tragic though they are, maybe one day we will get the appropriate laws, punishments, and even perhaps deterrents, to try to combat anyone either guilty of or planning/thinking about committing such atrocities".

Do we? I for one would shudder at the thought that any nation might rely upon some scummy tabloid/fascist rag's dodgy 'reporting' in order to target any ostensibly "guilty" individuals.
...btw Kerosene, what was the need to "sic" my mis-spelling of "incensed" five minutes after I admitted it ?
Not very sure what "Golden Nagchampa" is but it has to be an improvement on Golden Virginia.

"Just a reminder - they're also a charity, I assume you're a regular contributor. "

To the RSPCA? Nope, and never will be again, they're about as useful as chocolate teapots, and about as caring too.
