On balance, I am pleased that he will not be going....

Is there any indication about whether he will be charged with this offence in UK?

His case will be referred to the Attorney General.
They should offer to employ him, seems he's better than their guys!
That is very good, I am pleased.
Question Author
I am so pleased I can hardly type.
And the Attorney General will, after due consideration of all the evidence (viz. as long as it takes to type 'not in the public interest and no reasonable prospect of conviction') say no. Whatever excuse is used, the result is just.
how long before we all get accused of being lefty hand wringer liberals!!!

/// Mrs May said the sole basis for the decision was Mr McKinnon's human rights and she blocked the extradition order. ///

'Human Rights' for a British person? That is unbelievable.

So please that a sensible decision has been made at last, but I wonder what it will do to our 'special relationship'.

Did I hear the cry of "Who Cares"?
I hope that he gets a conviction for something in UK otherwise there will be no means of curtailing his bizarre behaviour.
human rights. flipping heck they know he british and has a right to live in this country and not here illegally.
Howard, do you know anything about Aspergers Syndrome?

He needs behaviour modification treatment, not punishment. It isn't like anyone was physically hurt by his crime.
I know nothing about that syndrome.
My point is that, without a conviction, no agency can compel him to modify his behaviour or even accept that anything he did was wrong.
By the way, it's the DPP,not the A G,who is to consider the case, according to Teresa May. "Same difference":both have powers over prosecutions. The decision is still predictable.
