Will the white players also be allowed to set up a 'White Players Association, so as to protect their interests?

No - not unless they want to form all black clubs

When white players start to get the sort of racial abuse and descrimination that black players get I'm sure they'll be able to set up a White players association.

Perhaps you'd be better thinking about why nobody is suggesting a black cricketers association

There is a Black Police Association, so why not?

Also a Society of Black Lawyers, it seems.
and if your choice of career doesnt fit any of the above you could always join the NAACP - National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People.
I abhor racism, but you could say that setting up such an association labels you a racist yourself.

I fail to see how such organisations can hope to reduce rifts in society, and if anything could increase them.

/// Black players will still pass to white players you know. ///

Mmmm, you think so, they have been known to refuse to shake hands, so if upset over something who knows?
And so have white players refused to shake hands!

It would seem that I am not the only person who thinks this sounds like one step towards apartheid, and also horribly disturbing.

/// And yet, it must be obvious to most rational thinkers that the abolition of racism will be achieved only when there is complete equality between the races. Surely the notion of separate associations for a specific race sounds less like a step toward equality and more like a step toward apartheid? ///

/// Would an association for every race, religion and creed also be necessary? What if this fails? Will they create a separate league for black players? I think not. The suggestion that separation of this kind can be likened to equality is not only archaic but horribly disturbing.///

It's a bloody players association in a sport that we are talking about, not a nation. This is hyperbole of impressive standards, AOG, even by your norms.

Not as I am denying this or have ever suggested they haven't, but I would be interested to see some proof.
Wayne Bridge and John Terry.
