As already pointed out, Stonewall are their own worse enemy.

It's almot the reverse of the old Marx line about not wanting to belong to any club that would have him as a member.
I suspect they want to get married there precisely because the church doesn't want them. I've tried to imagine if it would bother me were I in that position, but it's hard to do so when I am not. I suspect I would be happy with a civil partnership for the legal side of things, but my sheer bloody mindedness would probably make me want to take them on.
