America never supported the Irish Republicans. Some Senators, with an eye to the Irish voters in their constituencies, interested themselves in our affairs. Senator King of New York comes to mind.

in days gone by it was Irish American money shoring up the likes of the IRA, and then Colonel Gaddafi doing his bit with money, weapons and training facilities, so no one comes of that with clean hands.
