PRINCESS OF wALES??
Was it just me or did I hear , on the rolling news channel BBC, the reader refer to the 'arrival of the Prince and Princess of Wales.' yesterday.
About time too, I thought, and hope they won't be mealy mouthed about calling her Queen when the time comes...

I too was never a great fan of Saint Diana. Charles and camilla are much better suited to each other, and I, for one, WILL refer to her as Queen when the time comes. And for all those who that the succession should pass to Willam, this isn't some Hollywood production. Assuming Charles outlives his mother, then he will be King, whether peeps like it or not.

And if Charles had jumped off a cliffe would she have done that too? You don't commit bad behaviour just cause 'he did it first Miss'... that's a terribly childish and simplistic way of looking at things. Neither of them are innocnents. I imagine neither of them are hideous people either, just human.
Daffy64, you're brave aren't you! I too never liked her, I met her and Princess Anne in a short space of time and Anne was by far more naturally lovely, not caked up. I always felt that Diana was a sham, all those coy pictures of see-through skirts etc, yuk. Her late father wanted a Spencer grandchild in the succession, he failed with Mark 1, Sarah, but managed it with Diana. As for marital fidelity, it's not that strong in the Royal family. Off to the Tower now!
Look - Dianna was the fairytale princess
A commoner ( kind of ) who married a handsome (kind of ) prince and had a wedding with all the bells and whistles of every little Disney fantasy imaginable.
She went to all the glamous events and wore all the best designers and did all that charity work hugging AIDS babies in minefields
So half the women in the world identified with her, and fantasised about living her life.
So when her marriage started to fail and then she died in a dramatic car crash how could they see anything but a pantomime villan out of Camilla?
I haven't got a lot of time for Charles but I do think he deserves a bit of a break - they're obviously well suited to each other and happy together.
Whatever she's called I think the Dianna-Cultists should just grow up, get over themselves and leave them alone

There are some hilarious individuals on here and no mistake.
So you are all perfect then, and know intimate details about some people you have never met, including their adultery, their lack of care or thought for anyone else, and their obvious unsuitability to be monarch and monarch's Queen (despite having been brought up for future Kingship from birth)?
Why are you unable to at least say nothing if you can't say anything nice about the poor woman, and stop romanticising about Diana as though she was some poor little girl who was cruelly driven to the brink of sanity by these unfeeling monsters. She was at best average and at worst manipulative of the media ( which might have led to her death), certainly doesn't deserve all this wringing of hands and tearing of hair and was no better or worse than Charles or Camilla.
As an contrivence I don't like the Royal family, (I'm Irish they're not mine) but if you're going to have them and simper and fawn over them like a pack of docile peasants then you have to accept that's exactly what you are and they don't care whether YOU think she should be Queen or not. All this hate for people you don't know is just surreal.

Wonder if royalty would still be there if people had to vote for them. There are a lot more anti-royalists than are apparent. And how could you respect someone who was supposed to be ruling you and had done things which you considered wrong. Pity it was so 'in your face' that you couldn't ignore it.
