What, a McCarthyite purge? That was a joke of course, but it would solve the left wing bias issue and then we could all sleep safely in our beds again.
I'm a bit out of touch on the latest accusations I'm afraid. So "Big Cyril" 's been outed at last has he :-)

well one may not think that DC speaks sense most of the time, but his comment on avoiding a witch hunt was bang on the money.
Of course things need to be surfaced if there is any criminal behaviour, but in a measured way and through the proper channels......the way the press seem to behaving is as if they wish to have a neo-witch trial system with them in charge. This extends to the BBC too with their phlegm being spewed out in all directions. Of course the massive cock-ups need sorting out, but in a rational, calm way looking at all the structural and communication issues, as well as the apparent personal lack of responsibility and accountability in all of this.
And this doesn't happen in three days, a week or even a month.
Get it wrong and the wrong people get accused, tarred and feathered......

As far as David Cameron speaking sense is concerned, provided he's not spouting Tory policy then I think he usually does. By the sound of it a lot more than many of his party's supporters seem to :-)
I don't think the BBC is implicated in any witch hunts. I suspect the Bryn Estyn Newsnight report would not even have happened had the BBC and in particular Newsnight not been in post-Savile guilt mode. Now of course the pendulum has swung back the other way again.
