Why aren't our leaders prepared to condemn Israel, for these continuous attacks?
Retaliation for rocket attacks from Gaza, and the right to self defence is one thing, but the widespread slaughter that Israel is inflicting on innocent civilians is not the answer surely.
/// President Barack Obama spoke separately to Israeli and Egyptian leaders yesterday as the violence in Gaza intensified. In a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he reiterated US support for Israel’s right to self-defence. ///
/// Tonight, David Cameron urged Israel to 'do everything possible' to end the crisis. In a phone call with Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, he expressed sympathy for the continued 'unacceptable' rocket attacks. ///

/// Wow it's gone from 64 to 86 ! What will aog now call that ? Global disaster maybe ! It will be Armageddon next week. ///
If one enters such sarcastic remarks as this, then one must be prepared to accept some form of retaliation.
You may consider this post to be 'attention seeking emotive clap trap', but that only speaks volumes of your own intelligence and insensibility.

infund # Terror is the name of the game. #
. What's your point ? We all know , and I have experienced
war and terrorism . I lost several friends in both.
Hamas have killed over the past 20 years several thousand people most of whom were fellow Palestinians. In Gaza they killed families who objected to them building a missile site next to their homes.
Today it is those sites that are being targetted by the Israelies.

/// aog, Israel is entitled to use whatever force is necessary to stop the rockets. ///
Oh, so you are not prepared to draw the line at a Nuclear strike then?
Have you any idea what that would cause?
/// I doubt whether you applied, or would have applied, your sympathetic argument when the US bombed Hiroshima or when we bombed German cities. ///
How can you compare the present situation in Palestine and Israel with what went off during WW2, I don't know about you but I was around during those 6 dark years, but then perhaps you wasn't, judging by the attitude you are taking over the slaughter of innocent women men and children in Palestine.

infund There are many sites that describe Hamas's action against their own people on Google but here's a couple to look at . See also how they treat political prisoners.

Hamas was elected by the Palestinian people were they not? That places them in a somewhat different position from your average "terrorist" groups.
We should also not forget Israels use of white phosphorous in the past

This was against international law.
I think anybody who thinks one side here is in the right and one side is in the wrong has to be a hopeless dupe of the propagandists.
Stopping this means cutting off the supply of weapons to both sides, then they'd be forced to talk and compromise.. But I can't see that about to happen.

My sympathies have been with the Palestinians for many years, especially over the settlement problem , but they are badly led by extremists .
About ten years ago Arafat ,at Camp David , could have achieved 90% of what he wanted but under pressure from the hard liners he turned it down.
I have just listened to the ranting talk by the Hamas leader in Cairo who made it clear there would be no compromise. He will never accept a two state settlement neither will he even stop firing missiles to get talks underway.
So what choice do either side have ?
