Why The Aussie Djs Should Not Be Punished
The lynch mob are out to get the Aussie DJs who made the prank call to the London hospital where the Duchess was being looked after. There is no way they were responsible for the nurse killing herself. That was her choice and any number of other factors may have driven her to do that. Agree?

if it were me, even though I would know in my head that it was not my fault and accept no blame for her suicide - but in my heart, i would dearly wish i had not made the call, feel terrible for her and her family that it had hurt her so much and dearly wished someone else had answered it...
its all so many shoulda, woulda couldas...

It is similar to those Snags Russell Brand and Jonathon Ross.
Making what are seen to THEM as humorous phone calls, but what are very upsetting to the people that receive them.
People like Brand/Ross, and these two DJs, dont give a thought about the hurt they may cause to other people as long as THEY get a laugh.
Hopefully these two DJs will have a long time (out of work) to ponder on their prank.

They clearly did not target this poor women so her death is an unintended consequence of their act. They are less culpable than the many bullies in our schools, offices and on facebook. The fault lies with them for appalling taste and their audience for encouraging this type of entertainment. Neither of these are punishable acts but its a dirty shame whichever way we look at it.
It was a really stupid juvenile prank, but that's all it was. A prank.
We don't know the whole story of why this poor woman took her life, and we don't know what other circumstances might have been a factor. It's human nature to try to find someone to blame, a scapegoat, when something bad occurs that we struggle to make sense of.
The prank call was stupid and bad taste, but I don't think these two can be held responsible for the woman's death, horrible though it was.

if, instead of killing herself, she had gone out on a rampage and killed 3 other people, would anyone blame the DJs for that too?
or would you, quite rightly think her reaction was wholly disproportionate and over the top for the thing that 'provoked' it...and hold her fully responsible...?
then surely suicide is an equally disproportionate reaction to a prank phonecall also? - and one which, really, she didnt actually have much part it - she just transferred the call, nothing more ...
