Why The Aussie Djs Should Not Be Punished
The lynch mob are out to get the Aussie DJs who made the prank call to the London hospital where the Duchess was being looked after. There is no way they were responsible for the nurse killing herself. That was her choice and any number of other factors may have driven her to do that. Agree?

And as such, they should not be punished, however, they'll maybe have the future to reflect on their part in the outcome.
they're certainly a contributing factor without question. Whether they're hounded or not I don't give a damn. They got a kick and loads of publicity for doing the prank so they they can get some back. Might make people who enjoy such pranks think twice in the future. Doubt it though, as most of them are mindless morons who normally like dishing it out but can't take it back. So sad for the nurse's family, especially her kids at this time of year.
Whilst not directly involved in the decision in her taking her own life , they are no more than bully's who did make her perceive herself to be foolish in the eyes of herself and colleagues, we do not know what pressure she came under from her managers ref this but without doubt she obviously cared about her job and this prank call under mined her and in reflection it was an obstacle too big for her at that time , they should apologise , resign and crawl under a rock and let then reflect on there actions, she is gone but there are her children to think of , they will no doubt reflect on this for a very long time ....
jno - no one knows and maybe it should remain private.
owever, I don't think a prank, by itself, is enough to do this to someone without major issues on their plate. Haven't you ever been hoaxed? I have. (Got my revenge which was even sweeter!).
The other thing is that the Royal Family probably had rationalised it, Prince C wouldn't have made light of it in the manner that he did, not that security is not being looked at. Bet your bottom dollar it is.

it is ridiculous to blame them.
they could not have known this would happen - it was not an expected or intended or logical outcome - because 99% of people in the world would not have killed themselves over something like this....it was a joke that sadly someone couldnt handle ... it wasnt even bad!
to go to this extreme its very likely there were other issues in her life that this added to - because normal well balanced people dont kill themselves - they deal with things and move on ... and if not, if she did in fact kill herself for no other reason that this, then actually i think she was pretty selfish - she has 2 kids and husband, and to leave them motherless just because she felt daft is unbelievable.
even though they are not to blame they will undoubtedly feel terrible for this

I imagine that she was immensely proud of working within the British Health Services and felt utterly humiliated when she discovered that she had been an unwitting stooge in this 'prank'; given the profile of the patient and the family involved.
Some things cut deeper with people than might be supposed.....and whilst suicide may seem a disproportionate response, it might be worth getting the full picture before rushing to judge.
The Aussie DJ's should be (and have been) censured for their juvenile 'prank'....and it would be nice to think that it may persuade other equally vacuous and publicity hungry wannabes from carrying out similar 'pranks' in the future.

Apparently, their Radio Station is already on some kind of warning about other tasteless stunts they have been involved in. She may well have had other issues, but there's always the final straw and people in their position have to be responsible for their actions. We hear a lot about tackling bullying in schools and the workplace etc. there's always a fine line between a bit of a prank and a trick which goes too far.
joko - they might not have known what could have happened like a bully wouldn't know if a child will commit suicide over their actions. That is no defence. These people who set about these pranks need to be aware that not everybody is mentally tough and some people have a conscience over their actions. These people (and they are not alone) do not have a conscience and must take some of the blame here. They can sleep (or try to) with the fact that partly or fully as a result of their 'prank' two children have no mummy at Xmas time
