The Two Australian D-Jay Situation
Number one can the family of the poor woman who committed suicide sue? If so who and on what grounds?
Secondly, is it just me who finds the body language and apology on the news of the dj's a little overdone and fake?

Honour killings so called because a husband or male kills a woman for some perceived slight to their honour. It has been reported right from the start that she is a Catholic, most definitely not Muslim. I hope the two twerps, and the station get a heavy fine, for breaching security for one thing.
em - read the post - i didnt say that at all.
i noted that others had said it and wondered what the general consensus was - was it just the opinion of a few - or many...
not the same thing.
i think the DJs were hoping the humour in their stunt would come from a haughty refusal to speak to them, to have a snotty security officer tell them off... not from upsetting someone.
i agree that they obviously didnt consider any consequences such as affecting the receptionists job - simply because they didnt anticipate the person answering would just put them through without question - had the nurse simply not put them through, none of this would have happened.
i am shocked that she did - not so much about the fact that they managed to fool her, but that she didnt follow any sort of protocol

I think that the dj's decided to play a trick and got lucky in that they were not immediately sussed out. The Royal family itself did not take offence, as shown by Prince Charles comments before this happened. That the nurse was so upset by what happened that she committed suicide is terrible and tragic. However, it was not foreseen and not influenced by other factors, such as the hospital who had (they say) not taken any action against her. This is now a much greater matter than it would otherwise have been and changed from a joke to a very sad matter. We should learn from it for the future but not castigate those who did it, as they meant it as a joke and could never have known the consequences.
I hate to say it but what else do the "Media" have as headliners as to the News at the moment....
EU quiet, USA quiet, China and Japan quiet, Middle East - well yawn and passé - so what are they left with? Unfortunately for the D and D of Cambridge, the Hospital, and the biggest tragedy of all, the family involved.

The most sensible comment I’ve seen on this terrible situation came from Ludwig on another thread …….//She's in hosptial for christ's sake, f*ck off and leave her alone.//
I hate practical jokes – there’s nothing funny about humiliating people - and if the stupid popular media didn’t learn something from Diana’s death, then it should be ashamed.
I too felt that the male of the two especially was simply making the right noises in that interview.

I sensed that too Naomi but what else are they expected to do?
I thought the whole grilling process was rather unsavoury
Like having the village idiot dragged into the town square and tortured because they farted in church.
The two hapless djs were just enacting a third rate and third hand copy of a prank phone call that has been done a thousand times with no obvious ill effects
Those two picked happened to be in the wrong prank at the wrong time. The hospital's woeful inadequacies suckered them in and the station's lack of procedure has done for them.
It's bad they farted in church and it's a tragedy it led to someone deciding their kids were better off without them but I really don't need to see the village idiot being tortured any more.
The girl in particular looked like she might soon be joining poor nurse Saldanha.

It would in the NHS, deggers, but this is a private hospital and they've already said she wasn't in trouble (it was nurse #2 who actually gave out information about the patient). They need to look to their protocols, IMO.
if someone is suicidal, they don't think about the effect on other people, all that they can feel is the awfulness of their own situation.

but there ya go boxtops why get suicidal over this? she must have had other problems,
her voice was on radio but one knew who she was till she did herself in, no photo etc
i feel sorry for the two dj's, a prank is all it was , if you want to see a real prank very stupid and shocking, could easily cause heart failure to some one watch this.....

I would have thought that the shame of it all involving the Queen and Royal Family must have been unbearable for her, reflecting on her family. She would not have been thinking of anything else deggers. The hospital said that they had reassured the nurses that they were not to blame but it was obviously preying on her mind.
