/// Jacintha Saldanha, 46, was found alive at her accommodation on Friday morning and was still conscious when police and paramedics arrived - but they couldn't save her, Sky News reported. ///

/// Mrs Saldanha left a note for her family, it was revealed yesterday. She had not told her husband or children that she was involved in the incident, meaning the letter may provide their only clue to what prompted the respected nurse to take such a drastic and tragic step. ///

The important part of this statement is the fact that she had not told her husband or children that she was involved in the incident.

Which makes one question, what was the real reason behind why she took her life?

so if a sensitive lad, who had had a massive thing about me for years, asks me out on a date in front of loads of people and i say no, and he kills himself in a state of upset ...is that my fault?

if he goes on an angry rampage and kills someone else - is that my fault?

after all, if i hadnt said no, it wouldnt have happened...

no, you would blame him totally.

the nurse alone is responsible for her death - let stop trying to blame everyone else and look at who is actually responsible for carrying out the act that ended her life ... the nurse

AOG, maybe you don't have the time or inclination to read through all the posts, it might enlighten you a little. As to the family they have not been handed anything at all. The station concerned was believed to be donating monies to the family, from it's ad profits, there no info to say the family have accepted it or any other monies up to now. it's unlikely the family asked for anything. And it was Keith Vaz the MP who went to the family at their home in Bristol, that was also in the paper yesterday. He isn't their MP so why did he think that a good idea. Better a family friend to be spokesperson for the family in their time of grief. I also stand by my original point, that i personally wouldn't take any money from the radio station, others disagree, which as they say is there prerogative.

gness, i am aware that it sounds cynical, and can't we all be, but in my opinion the radio station seem to be doing a damage limitation exercise, by dint of offering the money, whilst the two presenters may yet face prosecution, the station manager too seeing as he vetted this pre recorded prank to go on air. Some say it's just a prank, well i don't see pranks as amusing, it usually means someone getting hurt. Bullying is a nasty business and more and more i see instances of this, on web sites, on tv in these ghastly reality shows, bear baiting for the masses, done up as entertainment.
