Suicide Note "criticising Hospital".....

So apparently, one of the notes said how she "couldn't come to terms" with the hoax, and criticised how she was being dealt with by senior hospital staff.

So much for their supposed "support" to her, huh?
Are we surprised by this, though? Did anyone actually believe that the senior staff at The King Edward Hospital would just 'let it go'?
They now need to launch a full inquiry!!

I think as both you, I and others stated ' on the day' that it would be fairly obvious and dare I say ' normal' in the modern day workplace to have a go at a member of staff who had accidentally brought problems to the workplace. I'm glad she left a note to specify that this was her reasoning, at least now we might be able to do something to stop other people being similarly victimised by those who they work for.

Nox, I agree. Hopefully now, also, the two DJs will not be solely blamed for this poor womans death. According to press reports, they've been receiving death threats. I really do hope a full inquiry will now be made.

Has the nurse who actually spoke to the DJs been reprimanded too? I can't seem to find anything on what happened to the nuse she put them through to.
Well as AOG says, we are all going to look silly when we find out that her suicide had nothing to do with the hoax call.

You could argue that it had less to do with the tual call and "allegedly" much more with her bosses' handling of what appears to me to be quite an easy mistake to make. Either way, it is a tragic waste of a good life.

Lol Triggs.
I was going to title this thread "AOG. I told you so".... :P

V&C, no, nothing on the second nurse who actually gave all the "deeply personal details" away, over the phone.
Question Author
Pressure from her bosses, who undoubtedly had pressure from the Royal family.
As someone posted yesterday, it was reported on the day of the incident that William was "furious" that this incident had happened. There's no way the hospital would have just let that go and "supported" Jacintha.
I hope we find out the details of that suicide note. The other two are, in my opinion, private and for her family only.
we will just have to wait on the inquest, i do hope all the relevant details will be revealed.
Good point about the other nurse, who actually gave out the confidential patient info - what's happened to her? I know the sort of processes which would have swung into place if this had been an NHS hospital and a breach of confidentiality like this had occurred.

We don't actually know anything yet though - let's not jump to conclusions, it's still her family who are mourning, however it came about.
There will be a lot of people going to look silly if the suicide had nothing to do with the hoax call.
It does sound as if there is a connection - but this might have been the last straw for her, there might be a lot more going on at home or at work that hasn't come to light yet.
I think the hoax was linked to the suicide; but that's just a guess. aog was quite right to suggest we could wait to hear the full story - after all, people demand as much of him all the time.
I haven't commented much on this story, I decided to wait until things became clearer.

I have to say this does not surprise me at all.
just as i said in an earlier comment on this a week ago

"There will be a lot of people going to look silly if the suicide had nothing to do with the hoax call."

Dorro, It has been reported today that one of the notes said she was "finding it hard to come to terms with the hoax call".

Talbot, Me neither!!
I thought at the time whats a qualified nurse doing on the switchboard. I think the hospital has a lot to answer for.
Question Author
I think I read they were short staffed and she just happened to pick up the phone.

I agree 100%. The hospital DOES have a lot to answer for. About time the dj's were stopped being used as scapegoats, I think.

good organisations insist that anyone near a ringing phone should pick it up.
... and the call came through in the early hours of the morning, presumably before the receptionist came on duty.
Question Author
I'm not questioning why she picked up the phone. I merely gave pdq1 the reason why she did pick it up... from what I've read.

I was saying that the reason for her death *may* lay with the hospital, and the treatment she received from them following the hoax call. That is why I think they have a lot to answer for. BUT, we will have to wait and see what the verdict is, and what exactly was said/alleged in this note.
