During the summer you'd often see reports on the news that reservoirs levels had never been lower. Are they OK now?

I would sincerely hope so!

I wonder how much water is lost to simple evaporation in dry times.
I'm sure they're over flowing Sandy. For more details take a look here:

Well they are full here! So full that the water bowsers have been here all day every day (including Christmas Day) pumping out the water. Although the lake still looks like it is creeping closer to the house......
Is the hosepipe ban over?

Chilldoubt, no, not altogether.
its never been a problem in scotland, sandy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I discussed the same (serious) question only yesterday. Back in the spring even I thought the Environment Agency said we'd need months of unprecedented rain to replenish the stocks so I'm not sure whether we are back to OK. I bet there's still a shortage next summer.
I dont know SandyRoe. I was asking on here the other day if we should be bulding more reservoirs too?

Yes but nobody fishing.
Don't know about the reservoirs, but I went to Newark this afternoon and most of the Trent seems to be still in the fields.
