@ NJ I am truly staggered. Are you truly trying to suggest that gay pride carnivals are as divisive as teaching fundamentalist religious views?
I think your logic circuits are seriously awry if so.
There is a huge difference between a bunch of people on the one hand celebrating their sexuality in a non-exclusive manner, welcoming all regardless of sexual orientation, in a clear reaction to decades if not longer of oppression, victimisation, abuse and more, and on the other religious fruitloops who wish to teach children that their faith makes them superior to others within society, or to reject or ignore scientific fact in favour of religious doctrine, or teach values stemming from religious beliefs that are at odds with equality issues.
If you could point to me supporting, lets say an educational initiative that promoted homosexuality, said hetersexuality was a sin for which they would burn in hell for an eternity, that their orientation was superior and mandated by god, and that other people who did not follow such teachings were somehow inferior - then you might have a point.
Otherwise it is just an example of poor logic.....
