I would like to agree Evian - in theory it shouldn't be a problem - but in today's sex obsessed world I'm afraid it probably isn't quite acceptable.

Remember all the really vile, leering stuff about Emma Watson when she was not even a teenager (not to mention the 'countdown to legality' clock that was posted just before she was 16) - there needs to be a line somewhere and I think 'leggy beauty' at 8 is probably on the wrong side of it?

Just my opinion. I've been calling my teenage niece leggy for years. Because she has lovely long legs. I think some people are a tad too sensitive.

The DM do love their young celebrity girls. Suri Cruise for instance - 6.5 years old , and the Mail has already run more than 800 stories about her. And they do love young celebrity girls in bikinis, and most especially love stories about young celebrity girls behaving "beyond their years", or "dancing raunchily". They especially love those kind of stories where they can publish photos of young "celebrity" girls in bikinis.

This from a paper that condemns those who leer at young girls. Their obsession was picked up in previous stories, such as this one about Elle Fanning..

strange that the parents think the outfits of the children are suitable, would you dress your 8 year old that way, i know i wouldn't.

as to the readers of the DM, they don't always react to these type of stories, no more i suspect than any other tabloid.

Could be by different writers, uncaught by the Ed, but they do need to get a consistent standard to avoid embarrassment like that. Not sure how much 'leg' someone can have grown by just 8.

The other curious trait in newspapers is to comment that celebrity daughters have been dressed unsuitably ... suggest that the parents should not be parading their daughters in such a way ...

The funniest one they did was the 'outrage' at Rihanna's sexualised performance at the final of the X Factor a couple of years ago.

The performance was such a disgrace, what with the number of children watching, that the Mail had to print twelve pictures of her gyrating around in her panties.

...plus, they included a link to a YouTube video of the act.
