How do you know they didn't? How do you suppose MI5 found out about it?
From the sounds of it, these muppets used to wander around talking freely about and collecting money for the glorious jihad. I'd guess someone got fed up of listening to their nonsense and decided to shop them.

/// So I think we can see who's really protecting this country now can't
we? ///
/// Time to slash the army's "fly around and shoot up weddings" budget and give the money to MI5. ///
The usual comic if not a little frightening logic from AnswerBank's very own anti-Armed Forces league leader.
So you think that just because MI5 managed to track down a handful of Islamic nutters this time we have no need of an Army to protect this country or it's interests abroad do you?
Is it beyond reality that certain groups could at this time be gathering together into a similar terrorist force to the Taliban, so as cause a situation that a large number of countries now find themselves in? If they did then that would need more that an intelligence organisation to oppose them.
It is a good job we didn't have the likes of you wishing for a disbandment of our Armed Forces, way back in the thirties.

/// That must have alarmed the people who had them under
observation. ///
Talking about having them under observation, we did try once but we chickened out and removed them, time they were put back up.
