Is There Something Wrong?
131 Answers
People of the UK getting stuffed left /right /centre with heating bills / fuel / every thing seems to be going up, the wages are static! how is it the big Banks still are able to pay their staff bonus's? If the UK Public want to complain, would it not help if we ALL kept changing banks to view our disgust?
We the hell do we keep getting put on from every direction & no-one seems to say nothing? Is there something wrong?

Because they're either making money or they're contractually obliged to (usually based on individual performance).
"People of the UK getting stuffed left /right /centre with heating bills / fuel / every thing seems to be going up, the wages are static!"
Part of this could be blamed on the Gov quantitative easing - it more or less creates cheapens the worth of the pound meaning your savings are worth less and the amount of money on paper you should be paid stays the same - at the same time costs go up because the worth of actual items increases. It's the worst kind of taxation.
"If the UK Public want to complain, would it not help if we ALL kept changing banks to view our disgust?"
I'm sure you'd be the first to agree that they're all the same? Equally, it's a lot of hassle, for what exactly? You've clearly been listening to Eric too much.

Yes. Have you proposed an answer? No.

I think a better question would be: Why do Bankers see a bonus as an absolute entitlement anyway? Especially if the bank has turned a loss or only just broken even...
Most people just get their salary for doing their jobs - only in exceptional circumstances are they rewarded for going the extra mile or whatever.
Bankers on the other hand seem reluctant to get out of bed, or stay in the country even, unless they are guaranteed a bonus.....

It's called a recession. Things will change when everyone has the confidence to spend and invest once more and take on staff, when the money will start to circulate again. But it need someone to take the lead, which is why governments should ensure the coffers are full during the good times so they have no need to borrow to kick start anything when times are less favourable.
And yes, the pain is greatest for the poor and powerless, and anyone seen as an easy target to demand more from for less given in return in 'real terms'.
There is no obvious solution. Even a revolution demands hardship until the new regime gets their act together.

"...no-one seems to say nothing?" The people of the UK have elected leaders who are expected to speak up on their behalf. Members of the public can do nothing - or next to nothing - on their own if they do not like the way the country is being managed. That's why they have leaders/MPs. If the leaders do not/will not/cannot improve living conditions, the people are powerless. The unsatisfactory situation that you describe will, presumably, continue, with all the leaders pointing the finger at someone else, and saying, "It's not my fault, it's his", which means that everyone will agree that something must be done, but they won't agree on who should do it.
