Isn't that the same as being a Lesbian, or can this person be cured of her disorder?

Slot yourself into some minority group then play the victim card then hey presto, get away with anything.
\\\Gender Identity Disorder is another term for Gender Dysphoria, which describes the symptoms experienced by transgender people due to not identifying with the gender they are assigned at birth. There is no cure for gender dysphoria - treatment is provided by gender identity clinics and are aimed at reducing the symptoms.\\

Yes! yes! but how is the diagnosis made?
Which Victim-group are you in, dave?

/// AOG - Are you waiting for a punchline, or something? //

If you are referring to the large blank under my question no, I just do not know ho=w that came about.

I was only asking a perfectly reasonable question, because I am getting a little confused over all this, and I hoped you could shed some light on the subject, but some cannot answer politely they can only be abusive.

Can I ask again, "what does one call a woman trapped in a man' body"?

I would say a homosexual, but you say a man trapped in a woman's body isn't a Lesbian, so I must be wrong regarding with my assumption.
You are confused because in years gone by homosexuals/lesbians were sniggeringly referred to as 'being trapped in the wrong body'. This is not true.

Homosexuals/lesbians are usually quite comfortable with their own 'shells'.

But there are people whose minds do not reflect their exteriors (Gender Dysmorphia) and these form the group, many of whom go on to have gender realignment/reassignment surgery.

Second time....same question.......how is the diagnosis made other than the patient indicating that their body was not in line with their brain?
I imagine that properly trained mental-health/health professionals make the diagnosis, sqad.
aog

i think you are confusing the gender of body people inhabit with the gender of body they find attractive

you would no doubt be horrified to wake up tomorrow morning and find you inhabit a woman's body.

lesbians are not horrified to inhabit a woman's body, they like it, and like other women's bodies!
just as gay men like the type of body they have been given
JTH...yes.....I would guess that as well.........but how do they do it?

Thank you for that, I am now beginning to get my head round this rather confusing sexuality thing.
There are several years of 'consultations' to go through with various health professionals, in order to ensure that the diagnosis is correct, and not just the product of a capricious mind.
If a chap told a pack of lies in order to inveigle a woman into his bed could he be facing the same charge in a court?
I've Googled it.....hate that word

\\There is no specific test that can be performed to indicate whether or not a person has gender identity disorder. Instead mental health professionals use certain criteria to make a diagnosis. These criteria include:

Persistent identification with the opposite gender, including cross-dressing and living as the opposite sex
Persistent feelings of being in the "wrong" body for at least two years
No presence of a DSD (Disorder of Sex Development) condition
Anxiety, unhappiness or other distress in every day social or occupational situations due to cross-gendered identification [source: Psychology Today]\\\

No just had another thought having gone back to the orininal question.

"Obtaining Sexual Intimacy By Fraud, Is This New"?

How does such a person (Gender Dysmorphia) obtain sexual intimacy, with another female lawfully?
She tells her about it first.........
AOG

"I was just asking if she wasn't also classed as a lesbian, due to the fact that she was attracted to females?"

No.

Lesbians are mentally and physically women who are attracted to women.

This is a man in a woman's body.

Completely different.
I now see that your question was better answered earlier (I posted whilst looking at the first page of the thread).
Terms like gender re-alignment and reassignment sound awfully Orwellian to me, and conjure up unpleasant thoughts of Doctor (I use the word loosely) Josef Mengele.
What terms would you suggest instead, Khandro?

/// She tells her about it first......... ///

Like "I'm actually a woman trapped in a man's body"?

Would it be only a lesbian who would be willing to conduct sexual intimacy with him/her, because I would think he/she would go a long way to find an equivalent sexual partner.

Genuine comment with no sinister or abusive motive attached.
