Definitely ....
What a d*ckhead
Think he is going a wee bit strange...
Maybe he imagines that having lived to a great age he is all wise.

He gives the impression of being an Yabbie though.
A what?
He is an idiot, in a long line of idiots.
\\\In a controversial interview the 80-year-old claimed that they are being punished because of what they have done in previous lives. \\\

Yes, he has gone too far in my opinion.

\\\\He also seemed to defend famous men who are "trapped" by underage groupies.\\\

For this statement, i have a certain amount of sympathy.........a certain amount.

In the 50's and 60's the famous men were "Show Bizz" personalities and there is little doubt that some women, dressed and presented themselves for the pleasing (sexually) of the famous personalities. e.g women would throw there knickers on the stage for Tom Jones to interpret...........certain women dressed appropriately would present themselves at the stage door for approval or otherwise of enrty into the dressing rooms.

Today, we have footballers who seem to attract this type of women and indeed many Clubs have VIP rooms for the footballers and friends in which "selected" women are invited......and there seems to be no shortage of takers.

So although "our Ken" is likely to be castigated....he may well have a point.
for this he should be ashamed of himself.

The star, who has played strait-laced Ken Barlow in the ITV soap for more than 50 years, told New Zealand's One News that the public should not be judgmental but be "totally forgiving" of people who have committed child sex crimes.
Punished for what they have done in past lives ??

Hmm.

Just supposing the Buddhists are right?
Pretty much agree with sqad

The 'previous life, hoddle type ramblings' are probably the first sign of Senility so perhaps cut him some slack. It's also difficult to know if the reporter twisted the conversation to get a scoop as he does appear to be retracting now.

The groupie thing is a bigger problem. 1) It is well known girls/women went with personalities well knowing what they were letting themselves into. It is also well known such women would never carry identification (probably many would wish to remain anonymous) so even if thought of how could age be verified.
Secondly I have a problem applying today's thoughts and standards retrospectively 30+ years back. Who is to know for instance if any of these groupies held a resentment for being 'used once' that they can now get them back (must be many other reasons too).

I am not condoning the action, just trying to get some perspective on it.
isn't it straight-laced rather than strait-laced?
for the first time ever i agree with young
Did he say that em or is it a sentence out of context.

I have not heard the original interview, so a genuine question.

Strait jackets presumably get strait laced.

Sqad

You have said exactly what I thought, but was too scared to say it first, in case some of the 'regulars twisted my words to make it sound that I was defending paedophiles, which would have been totally incorrect.
that was in the article, so one assumes he did?
He should learn to keep his mouth shut, except when acting.
Typical response from an older male.

Yes he has gone to far and it is disgusting

There is a video clip on this Daily Mail report, haven't listened to all of it so I can't if it was taken out of context or not.
