where does it say this is ongoing and has been a problem, suggest perhaps that the Buddhists see this as a further encroachment of Islam, not suggesting that stone throwing is a good way to put your case however, perhaps they are defending their way of life, more in this that the headlines suggest.

Oh dear - the only trouble in recent times has been with the Tamil Tigers. I didn't know about this either, it sounds a very un-Buddhist way of going about things.

what worries me is that on a news report the other evening, a young Syrian man who was amongst many in the conflict with Assad's forces said why is the west not arming the rebels, why are we letting them die, then added ominously, that we the west are turning them into Islamists, does this sound like something we should be doing, arming them, then for those who topple Assad, that is if they do, don't turn around and proclaim us as western devils and turn our weapons against us. Haven't we been here before?

Considering there are so many Muslims who just get on with their life, it's the extremists and stirrer-uppers who we hear about.

Boxy, it is the Muslims that actually follow the writings in the Koran that are the trouble, them and the ones who follow the culture of where they or their families come from, either way, yes I agree not all of them cause trouble but when they do.....

Muslims sicken me more than any other, sometimes they behave more like barbaric heathens!!!

Where in that report does it say that it`s the Muslims that are causing the trouble? The stone-throwing etc is being carried out by the Buddhists. Islam is minimal in Sri Lanka, I can only remember seeing one mosque (in Kandy) although there may be more.

I just know it would help in this country if we stopped changing laws, traditions and our own cultures to fit in with foreign cultures, especially Muslims and then if the world then followed suit..........

Brilliant work people... News story about a Muslim owned business getting vandalised with no background or further information; conclusion 'its the Muslims fault'.

Its the speed with which you can jump from such a short story to posting that Muslims are sickening / violent / taking over the world that astounds me. I know there is little or no point entering these threads where Islam is mention because the over riding options seem to be verging on extreme fundamentalism but everyso often i feel like this needs pointing out.

Please feel free to tell me I'm wrong but i don't accept your 'reality'

every current religious, cultural upheaval, is in countries with the followers of Islam at their heart, mass bombings, suicide missions, from Libya to Tunisia, to Egypt, and Syria, please don't say that we started it all, our interference long ago. People don't seem to get that everywhere you look there is a conflict going on, daily news items with the dead and the dying, the severely maimed, by gun, bomb, IED, and more besides, all for what. When the dust settles, if it ever does in Syria, i hope we haven't sent troops, arms, because all i can see is more British soldiers coming home in coffins for wars that are nothing to do with us.
