I Don't Believe All These Numpties Moaning About 10 Million

being spent on Margaret Thatcher's funeral - don't they realise, if they hadn't have gone, then it wouldn't have had to cost so much for security.
You get people who want to protest peacefully - okay fine, but you always get your what I call 'rent-a-mob' who want it to errupt into a running battle with the police causing carnage in it's wake. Every eventuality has to be covered

1) It was mostly armed forces - paid anyway
2) There were always going to be crowds plus VIP's to protect so most of the Policinig bill would be there whatever.
Plus, it appears the plans were approved under the last labour Government.
So put that in your pipes and smoke it lefties.

I think that many people think that DC is using this as one big PR exercise for the Tory party and that is not an appropriate use of public funds.
10 million is not a huge amount of money for such an event - it is the intended purpose of the event that is the issue
I think the 'numpties' are the ones calling people names when they disagree with their opinions!

Where would you even rent a mob from?
Pretty sure Hertz don't do them.
Anyway, even if the protesters stayed away, the security for all those foreign (and native) dignitaries would have still cost millions.
I didn't like the woman or her politics but wouldn't stoop to protesting at anyone's funeral. The hated person is the only one who won't know about the vitriol aimed at her. Imagine how the family feel.
Can't wait for it all to be over.
And I want my 16p back, Gromit.

Sorry but I don't believe there is any point made. A state funeral in all but semantics is obviously going to cost more than a small force of officers ensuring that a small family funeral goes off without a hitch. I am amazed at the justifications brought up for all things 'Thatcher' at the moment. I find it difficult to believe anyone is seriously suggesting it would cost £10,000,000 for a lower key family event. It has to be a wind up.
